  1. Maybe Robin was wasn't such a great example. Maybe more Dick Turpin. Point is the theft of have's by the have-not's is nothing new. And no, I'm not condoning theft. Nice try.
  2. I think even with PAYG you need to top them up at least every 6 months or the provider may well consider it inactive.
  3. "Households in this area have a much higher level of wealth compared to the average household in England and Wales. 99% of analyzed areas in England and Wales have lower average household annual income than this area." Do you think this might have anything to do with it ? Robin Hood and all that....
  4. I'm sure that @teddyboy23 is in the know.
  5. The Kellys Street Directories are available for free via the Leicester University website: Searching is tricky and it does take quite a bit of fishing around Search Results - Special Collections

  7. Is that the site that was Big Bellys at one time ? I suspect that they have an eye on the flats that will be going up in the builders yard space as this will be right at the entrance.
  8. The TW leak is right outside JAGS at the top of the hill and water was flowing in both directions. At one point, combined with the thunderstorm on Sunday afternoon, the road under the bridge on Village Way was flooded as it couldn't drain fast enough. Traffic was turning around rather than risking it. I don't think the lights on the bend are related but could be I guess.
  9. Anyone know why temporary lights were put in on East Dulwich Grove on Sunday but as of 8am this morning no works are evident ? I imagine works are planned but have been delayed but the team putting in the lights have gone ahead anyway. 🙄 Just as well Alleyns and JAGS have finished...
  10. There was a photo of him a couple years ago wearing a “Fuck The Tories” Christmas Jumper. I wonder if those will all have been quietly removed. Brilliant fodder for the right wing press.
  11. Does this announcement mean the new stadium is going ahead on the Astroturf site after all ? And the development of the old stadium into housing will also go ahead or does this need more planning approval ?
  12. Went to see the Tony-Winning Stereophonic last night, the play that is apparently not about the recording of Rumours but is set in a recording studio in Sausalito in the late 70's and features a band with three Brits (two men, one woman) and two Americans (one man, one woman). It was good but I wasn't blown away, wasn't helped by the number of people chomping on noisy snacks throughout the performance !
  13. While I can't recommend any destination, for European train travel advice take a look at the man in seat 61 website - it's a mine of useful information.
  14. Volcano - West Dulwich
  15. Just been to see Giant at the Harold Pinter theatre. Fabulous. I can see why John Lithgow won an Olivier.
  16. They are being squeezed into the land on the site of the old Melbourne Grove surgery that closed when Tessa Jewell opened. Kind of behind where Il Mirto was.
  17. Are these the houses being built where the old doctors surgery used to be ? In which case is that the view from Railway Rise 😆
  18. Just wanted to remind everyone of this facility. It is in the Leisure Centre foyer and so accessible during the normal opening hours. I've just used the SDS drill (which comes with drill and chisel bits and eye & ear protection) for under a tenner for a day. Equipment was in very good nick and process was more easier and more convenient that traditional hire shop. https://libraryofthings.co.uk/
  19. Used notes ?
  20. I can't guarantee that they'll have what you're after but I was very impressed with The Nunhead Gardener this week. I'd also been to Croxted Road and the Pot and Plant next to North Dulwich Station and the selection at both paled by comparison.
  21. I'm guessing it must have been early. I passed about 7:30 and there was no signs of police or ambulance only the recovery truck. My guess is that the bin lorry was approaching from the JAGS direction, heading down the hill, turned right, overcooked it and tipped. Hopefully no one was seriously injured though I imagine those in the lorry must been hurt.
  22. I wonder how this happened? Recovery truck arrived.
