Rockets - are you pro-LTN or just not pro this particular LTN ? Your hyperbole undermines your credibility: "My personal theory is that they are making things up as they go along, " "The mistake the council made was creating the new EDG Central monitoring as it was clear it was nothing more than a trojan horse to help maintain the Melbourne Grove closer at the behest of the residents and numerous pro-LTN lobby groups based there." "Some of us think the LTN monitoring information is being manipulated by the council"

Although it's really easy to just dismiss the September 2019 measurements as the position of the East Dulwich Grove Central ATC wasn't in the same place as the current one is, it's worth looking at the *actual* positions as included in the data published by Tracsis. The decimal Easting and Northing of the 2019 ATC is (51.4589803,-0.0796602) and the current ATC is (51.4589830,-0.0794940). My calculations could be wrong but I think this works out a difference of less than 50 cm on the Northing and about 14.5 metres on the Easting. So you have ask the question whether or not you consider 14.5 metres is significant or not.

Yeah that -19% should be removed as there was no pre-covid level to compare to.

Mine was also missed yesterday (5/4). I went to report it and the website says "This collection is due today and collections are still in progress. You can only report a miss when the vehicle has passed or after 4:00pm today"

Melbourne Grove Market Trial Online Survey
ed_pete replied to andrewc's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I wonder what the residents think of the Wine Retailer/Wine Bar proposed for the old chemists ? They're applying for a license to drink on the premises from 09:00 to 22:30, 7 days a week. https://app.southwark.gov.uk/licensing/LicPremisesAppliedDetails.asp?systemkey=877119 -
A licensing application has been made by https://dropwine.co.uk/ for the premises that used to be the Pharmacy at the end of Melbourne Grove. A planning application for change of use has been made for the premises that were GM's hairdressers on Melbourne Grove to use it as a doggy day-care centre.

Dulwich Constitutional Club...Anyone know?

I think the Nursery is still planned. Looks like part of the planning application is still to be approved https://planning.southwark.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=summary&keyVal=R429UUKBKMU00 -

Agreed on car use. What we really need here is the equivalent to the e-scooters/bikes for cars. Reduce the spaces available for privately owned cars and partner with a electric car provider. I'd give up my petrol car if I knew that the chances of me being able to pick up an electric car when I needed one was largely guaranteed.

Getting to the Traffic Counts data Here are some instructions on how to use the Southwark Maps Portal to get a list of the published Traffic Counts. Go to Southwark Maps Portal here: https://geo.southwark.gov.uk/connect/analyst/mobile/#/main?mapcfg=Southwark%20Highways&lang=en-gb It'll flash up Pitney Bowes (who I guess are hosting this map software) then bring up a map centred on the Old Kent Road. You'll need to drag the map to the location you want or use the search in the top left. The link above should load the Southwark Highways map configuration - if not you'll need to make sure that's selected top right. Then click on the folder icon next to "Traffic Counts" and select the Checkbox next to "Traffic counts (2016-now)" This should highlight on the map the places where a traffic count is/has been located. If you click on an individual blue spot it opens a panel on the left with details of each count and a link to each counts spreadsheet. To get them all this way is laborious so if you instead click the three dots next to the "Traffic counts (2016-now)" checkbox it opens a little menu starting with "Multi Select". Click on the "See tabular results" and it opens a pane on the left with a list of all the traffic counts Southwark has (2000+). (You can limit it to those shown on your map using the Query option but this is more advanced). Then, if you select the three dots next to "Traffic counts (2016-now) in [All data]" at the top of the list you get an option to "Export all pages as CSV". This will download a CSV file which contains the same data in the list including a link to each spreadsheet containing the count data. Some of these are publicly available - those starting with https://geo.southwark.gov.uk - and some are not. East Dulwich Grove is attached. Now you just need to download the spreadsheets and wrangle to the data.

The train service is appalling at the moment. 45 minutes between trains in the evening.

Decided to pay Find My Past the ?2.50 to see who lived at my house in 1921. Family of four, both parents roughly the same age as my wife and I. Adult son living with them also roughly the same age as my son who lives with us. Wife's mother also lived with them, that doesn't have the same current parallel. Father worked in the City as a Bank Messenger for a bank in Moorgate that I've passed a hundred times and is only a few hundred yards from where I work now. Plus ca change.

I normally would have bitten the bullet and moved up to Windows 11 but for once in my life I've decided to stay where I am for as long as I can. I have a newish laptop and am reasonably technically competent so don't think it would be that painful but just don't see the point really. I expect I'll stay on Win10 until they stop rolling out security patches. Anyone else tried it ?

More wasted money for paint on > the road. The council seemed insistent on changing the layout around Lyndhurst / Chadwick/ Holly Grove but it's no better and they should have saved the money. I never to use the dedicated cycle lane on Lyndhurst because (a) I can cycle in traffic quick enough to avoid issues and more so (b) my route takes me down Holly Grove and so you have to pull out right from the cycle path on Lyndhurst into the traffic to get across which is dangerous. Sticking to the cycle lane is only worth it if your going straight on. -
Need help buying a new onstreet car permit
ed_pete replied to trinidad's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I'm sure that you've read this already but I think that you are correct and you'll buy a new one for the new car and apply for a refund for the car you've sold, and they deduct ?14.50 as an admin charge. They also only refund full months so better make sure you get in the request before the end of January. https://www.southwark.gov.uk/parking/parking-permits/on-street-permits/resident-parking-permits -

/forum/read.php?30,2254041 Does he just put them outside his own house and charge you a fiver ? -
If he has designs on becoming an MP one day, this could come back to bite him. Tabloids would love it.
