We agree on the anything from burton on trent is def off the list we are hoping to have a non main-stream range of lagers and ales rather than being just another outlet of the usaul chain rubbish. My Ale of choice is TEA from hogs back brewery in Surrey , very nice beer ( TEA stands for Traditional English Ale)

  8. Watched ray mears on tv this morning , he was in new zealand and they cooked up a lovely Hangi for him , made me rather homesick. oh well Fush & Chups for dinns tonight.

As a previous manager of above mentioned Uplands , I remember large groups of mums , dads , and kids coming in on any day of the week and some of my waitresses more than happy to literally become surrogate child minders.( louise and Janacke spring to mind) more so on quiet weekday afternoons. I dont know what its like in there now but we will soon be launching our new venture in the area which will include similar coffee and lunch sessions.

  14. No Mac , nothing to do with the old Mag We take the PA in about 3 weeks , having previously had a few pubs in the West End. I was at the Uplands 2001 - 2003 in both its incarnations and had a really good rugby Oz/kiwi/SA crowd. Im hoping to build on that when we move to the Prince Albert.
  15. To show my age , on the i pod play list today Neil Young, Ohio, followed by the whole rust never sleeps album Lynard Skynard, live album crosby stills nash & young live in astbury park ( 1972 i think) kept me singing along for over an hour ( very funny looks on the tube and bus)
  16. Refurb planned soon, no major changes , just a good clean up and a new food offer to be happening mid april Note: Officially The Prince Albert is the only pub on bellenden rd , The others have addresses on the rd's off bellenden.
  17. Watch this Space for future rugby... changes happening at the prince albert on Bellenden Rd , will be the pub to watch lions tours and tri nations rugby ...... also special breakfast for super 12's semi's and finals. call in and see from april onwards
