  1. corporal punishment in the home --- smack on the bum yes smack around the head no in the school --- strap on the hand yes cane for boys yes when I was at school , if I was caned , i would have to take a note to my parents to inform them i was caned. we also had the choice, afterschool detention or 2 canings per detention , i had an afterschool job and rugby practice so always opted for the caning ( 3 times in 4 years ) The prospect of the cane was a deterant for lots of boys, now there is no deterant so lots more kids go off the rails ( im guessing here , no solid fact on this)
  2. Too big , old and slow to run away. when 3 young lads decided to de-money me in Camberwell, I used the theory, " hit the biggest first" , so I attacked the biggest guy, broke his nose, blood everywhere , and strangely enough the 2 little blokes wanted none of it. having said that , my girlfriend is a lot smaller than me so i tell her just to hand the bag over if threatened, no point in being beaten up for a phone and some small change. In this day and age , "hero's" end up with a knife in them. and the perps end up on youtube showing off.
  3. you dont need a ticket to be standing on a railway concourse. the ticket is only required if you plan a journey. and then its only needed once you proceed through the barriers. The example of this is the T mobile ad at liverpool st station. most of the people came from the street , did the ad , and then left via the street. The police may have been responding to vagrancy alerts, this is common when flushing out bag theieves , homeless people using the station and other suchlikes. Paddington is a high risk area for thieves and its a common occurance to see the police do inspections
  4. The castle will have the game on , not sure if they do pub food , they may let you BYO phone and ask

  6. just a wild guess , any pub with a tv. this is expected to be a huge till-filler for the local pubs. we have reserved VIP tables and they are all booked out. Sorry , my pub is still in Middlesex so prob doesnt help your question
  7. we have the sun , the mail , and the times as free papers in the pub every day so I normally have a flick through those each day. The sun may be full of gossip and trash in the front but its sports coverage is ok.
  8. What does the protest actually hope to achieve?? I means its not exactly Rosa Parks is it? a little bit of tv coverage, a few more arrests , maybe another window or 2 broken and then all returns to normal , joe average still goes to work , votes at voting time and switchs off for the rest of time. If im going to take time out of my working day , I would rather be doing something important like "help for hero's" or something similar.
  9. I see its still on the punch pub co website as for sale. Asking price for the lease is ?200 k , that would suggest that the place takes 8 - 10k per week ( although not gauranteed )

  12. Horne has just collasped at some show he was acting in , He looked so lifeless , everyone thought it was part of the act. it took 5 minutes of him lying there for someone to realise it wasnt acting
  13. In the old days ( pre 2000 )The foresters used to be the place to score drugs, I remember being there and going to the gents only for some little pukestain to try to bar my way and tell me that i couldnt use the toilets. ( this again fell into the "little weedy person telling me no" problem ) there was 4 guys all doing lines when i went in , they just about shit themselves when i walked in and told them the cops were here that is probably my only lasting memory of that pub

If I use my > imagination I can see the practical application. > Although it has left me a little disturbed. No Brendan , men in skirts is not required , although you are more than welcome to express your individual dress sense if you visit.

I particularly enjoy walking in a straight line down oxford st and not swerving when someone comes barelling towards me. its funny how "the little people" think that their intimidating 75kg (estimated) of staunch front , is going to even register when they bump into me. and when the best line they can come up with is "fat c**t" i am reminded of a line Yes , Im fat , But Your Ugly I can Diet But with that face , your F**Ked now trying to remember what movie that was in. P.s Am very polite and helpful to those that deserve it
