Maybe investigate a currency card like Caxton FX at least for early on or as a back up ? he/you can load the card as he goes along, so if it gets stolen he doesn't lose the lot. As long as you have something in place to reassure yourself, I'd let him go ahead and do his own planning (or not), and make mistakes ? he'll learn more that way!

I've been bitten before, not this year yet! They can get infected so definately recommend going to the doctor if it doesn't clear up quickly... I needed antiobiotics for one bite.

Really? That seems a bit harsh... as a cyclist I've never personally had a problem, thought it was a colouful bit of local advertising. My gran had one of those hoovers, it had headlight on the front to highlight those carpet crumbs, brilliant idea!

It was long overdue... he was funny once, but it had all worn a bit thin and he'd become a caricature of himself, never a good thing (tends to happen with age, must watch out for that one).

I miss getting a takeaway when too knackered/wasted (while we're on the subject) to cook and throwing away the containers etc. Now we're supposed to wash and recycle in an orderly fashion, which rather defeats the object...

There's a Southwark community council meeting in St Barnabus Church Hall tonight at 7pm re traffic in and around Dulwich Village. Agree CPZ is not the answer but a lot of people seem keen unfortunately ? anyway it's a good place to air your views if thus inclined.

The kind of food that involves 'foam' ? why do I want food that looks like the chef spat on it? Not too keen on things being drizzled either, though I think that's a bit pass? now thanks goodness.

I feel very fortunate that we're with Elm Lodge surgery, have never had a problem, even very recently ? we seem to get a much better service than other practices are able to offer. Hopefully it was just a glitch! -

It is the old vicarage, and there was some intractable problem around ownership and whether it should be sold (I knew the story once!)I must belong to the Church Commission. The current vicar lives elsewhere. It's a huge waste of a decent plot of land. -
Did you get anywhere?! I have an allotment and would be happy to offer a share to a would-be vegetable grower, or maybe someone on the waiting list who wants to get stuck in sooner. If anyone's interested do pm me.

Our phone line has been out of action since Friday morning... the online status has been giving an estimated fix time of a couple of hours ever since, ie 12 pm Friday, then 4pm, then 6pm Friday etc ? now suddenly 6pm tomorrow, Monday! Not impressed. And I can't find a number that reaches a human. Hmmm.
