  1. Good question, properly coming out of the vast amount of money motorist pay to park
  2. All your views are very valid, if any of you live in the PW CPZ, please express that we do not want to increase the time on the zone. I am sure this is what the local authority wants, but i don't think it is in the best interest of residents: www.southwark.gov.uk/zonePWreview
  3. Hello Alex, I actually agree with you, that I do not believe we need a controlled parking zone in West Peckham. A few years ago, when residents were consulted, the majority voted against the introduction of a parking zone, but the council implemented one anyway on a technicality, so this council's parking department would do what they want. I already get charged £130.00 a year, and parking enforcement officers daily on the street. People need to respond to the cards posted to every householder within the zone and reject the idea of increasing the times. Interesting, but there is no option to scrap the zone completely. It's clear from the proper gander of the card, the council supports CPZ and wants to increase the restricted hours, and restrictions increase revenue. OfCourse us as voters are equal to blame as we voted the same labour administration back into the council not that long ago. Such councils are the council of high taxes.
  4. I received the following card today in the post from southwark council: Zone 'PW' Review (Peckham West controlled parking zone) We would like your views on the current CPZ in West Peckham Please let us know whether the CPZ has made a positive difference to parking in the area and weather you would like to see any changes to the layout or operating hours of the zone. www.southwark.gov.uk/zonePWreview Consultation 7 November to 28 November 2022 Have your say Your parking zone operates 9am to 11am, Monday to Friday. Would you like to see the operating hours changed to better suit the needs of the area where you live? we have outlined the pros and cons below: Pros Extending parking restrictions for longer lengths of time as well as the weekend will priorities parking for residents, visitors and businesses. The removal of parking in the evening and at the weekend would leave space available for street improvements such as places to rest and cycle parking. Cons Increase operational hours would decrease the amount of time you can park without permits which may mean you would need to purchase more visitor permits. There may be some parking displacement to nearby parking zones from those who would normally use Zone PW for evening and weekend parking. To request a paper copy of the questionnaire please write to Freepost RSCE-TGHU-CUZB, Controilled Parking Zone 'PW' 3rd floor, Hub 2, 160 Tooley Street, SE1 2QH If you would like any further information, please contact [email protected]
  5. wow, so the builk of the money goes to the agency. This personal budget system sounds interesting, I am expecting a call from the allocated social worker tomorrow so i will talk to her about personal budget and maybe google might help, thank you :)
  6. Thanks for this, the friend has dementia and he has carers coming in several times a day. It was orgnisaed by adult social care and the service is terrible.
  7. Hello all, over the last three weeks Veolia seem to forget to collect my waste. Sometimes it has been food waste, sometimes household rubbish and sometimes recycle waste. Has anyone else experienced these goings on? I have used the councils missed collections system, but stopped using this as a way of contacting the council as the council officer lied and said the crew could not find the food waste bin (It usually sits on top of the wheelie bin which is positioned at the far end of the property near the garden gate). For the last three weeks I have used the complaints process. I have had one response back to say it was too hot for the crew to work . Its strange as sometimes thew food waste is empty but not the recycle waste, is it only recycle crew who experience heat??? Its currently 21c, is that too hot? I think we pay enough council tax in this borough already
  8. Currently have a relative being cared for by a care agency. I am not too keen on the care and wonder if anyone receives good quality care from a care agency?
  9. Hello all, A few weeks ago my food waste was not collected and I was informed this was due to the warm weather. Its currently 29C and not seen the dust cart, is it too hot today for the dust people to work again? I tried the councils website, but could not find anything :(
  10. thought i would mention, some roads belong to TFL, so they also maybe responsible for the upkeep of crossings
  11. Hello Ruffler, tell me more about your experiences I am intrigue

Your right weseley, I was hoping we would explore a whole range of localized topics. -The Housind department has looked at exploring council accommodation by building on top of existing housing blocks. -The Parking charges introduced to park in or near our parks -Many council services are now delivered online only I am sure there are many more. While I dont like LTNs too much, there are LTN threads available on the forum.

I saw someone complain a bit that > took up more time than voting cards saved :) This does not seem right, you do not need your voting card to vote, it just helps the staff find you quicker, but not a requirement. I wonder if you should provide feedback to Electoral services?

You dont need your voting card to vote, details on the card though helps the polling Clarke to find you alot quicker.
  17. The sorting office covers a huge area now, and i am glad the opening hours are much more larger. Parking is a nightmare, I have parked in the spaces on the grounds and have received a mouthful from post office staff. Cant we have some visitor parking spaces which can be used for free while we collect post? I hate collecting mail from there
  18. I would like to see much more charging points for electric vehicles around the borough, and better information on recycling.

And what do > you mean by informally? Hello Ianr, No I dont tell each of the other councilors that I have contacted each of them. Yes you are right, the parking service generally rejects appeals during the informal stage. This is the stage when you have made a challenge during the first 14 days when the opportunity to pay is at the 50% rate. The formal stage is when you receive the Notice To Keeper in the post. You requested i publish my figures, i did not know what that meant sorry.
  20. Band B property council tax 2022 - 2023 Southwark council ?1240.20 wandsworth council (one of the cheapest council tax in the country) ?698.59 Lewisham council ?1413.07 Lambeth council ?1291.30
  21. One of the services I would like to see changed is the delivery company medequip. They deliver equipment to children and adults who have a medical and/or health need. They are absolutely useless. Bring the service in house and get rid of this company who charges the local authority a fortune to deliver every single day, and makes vast profits.
