  1. so currently the charge operates: Monday to Friday 7:00am - 6:00pm Saturday - Sunday (and bank holidays) 12noon - 6:00pm Charge is ?15.00 per day. if you go over the red large c painted on the road between operational times, you need to pay.
  2. i only subscribed in the first year, when it was ?30.00, last year it jumped to ?40.00 and this year it remains the same. it will increase.
  3. The council tax bills arrived from the council today. Can you cope with the increase or still value for money? There is a ?150.00 council tax rebate from central government for properties from A - D
  4. Todays experience was not a good one :( I used the online service and posted at 8:33am, at 1pm I telephoned the surgery as I notice the online service had now closed. Told someone is working through the enquires. Received a response at 2:30pm 6 hours since first contacting the surgery. The sick note requested had the wrong date. Telephoned the surgery as I could not respond (the online service had now closed to new enquires and the gp had closed my enquire preventing me from responding). advised due to capacity i have to contact the surgery again at 8am on the telephone. crazy i think (short lived for me :(
  5. I received a call from veolia yesterday, apologising so i am happy now. Still think LB Southwark delt with this badly :( glad your all sorted now
  6. ok, there is quite simple then, the response time for second stage complaints is five weeks, clearly the council has failed to respond within that time, so you should now contact the local government ombudsman
  7. sadly my experiences have not been good, so much so, i have had to raise a complaint with the local council
  8. do you know the date when you submitted the second stage of the complaint process (review stage)? did you receive a acknowledgement for the second stage?
  9. Medequip has a number of contracts with local councils, including LB Southwark. They carry out a range of storage, , delivery, installation, repair, collection ect. have had some terrible experiences with this company in either delivering or collecting equipment, i am really interesting to hear if this is a isolated case, or widespread. The equipment can be anything from a hospital bed to a grabber.
  10. I do not feel we should accept representatives who ignore electors
  11. Hi all, I wanted to share my experiences with the medical centre on ED Grove. I have stopped contacting the centre by telephone, and have now started using "askmygp". The seervice is much better than waiting for ever on the phone ands you get a response back from either a chosen GP or any clinicians who work there and usually only a few hours. They will email or call depending what you request. Contact the surgery for more info
  12. I think the best metrhod is to use the councils complaints policy, demand an explanation and compensation. Progress through the two complaint stages and then raise with the local ombudsman. I dont think this area of work is very good in the council. I lewft my food waste out recently, it was not collected, i sent an email to enviroment, and was advised the operative could not find it. I sent pictures of the container on top of the bin, have heard noithing so far from the council, will wait eight weeks and will send to the ombudsman, southwark do not care
  13. It seems the councilors are not always good at listening and responding to residents
  14. I think if Labour councilors arte choosing not to respond to enquires / emails / letters etc, let them know exactly how you feel in May at the next council elections. We need councilors which listen and are responsive. If councilors choose to ignore, punish them at the ballot box and not on this thread.
  15. Hello all, did anyone receive a personal visit from Labour councilors last month? Funny it is council elections in May, coincidental? I am still seething, most residents voted no for parking in the area, yet a parking money scheme, which has had no impact on my road, was introduced :(
  16. Hello JuJubeans, your instructions worked like a treat. I was on the verge of paying another ?125.00. I was really skeptical, and thought, let me give this ago, thank you so much for your help - you was brilliant. On another note, i think the councils website on parking could be alot better. Thank you once again
  17. Hello all, I wanted to ask for help from fellow ED forum members. I sold my car yesterday and purchased a new car, the experience was stressful, but glad I did it. I currently have a parking permit already for car a which is sold. I logged onto the council website to secure a new permit intime for Monday, i wanted to move my old permit from car a, to my new car, car b, is this possible? I found the council website totally confusing, can anyone help? My gut feeling is I have to purchase another permit and request a refund for the old permit which is crazy :(
  18. Thank you AylwardS
  19. where exactly is the camera?
  20. forgive me if this has been mentioned previously, but is there any form of consultation period being hosted by the council regarding the LTNs?
  21. Just another question, i assume once i have purchased my bags, I simply just leave them out during collection time?
  22. hi alex, interesting to learn about the brown sacks, where do you get these?
  23. Last year, LB Southwark introduced a charge for the garden waste service of ?30.00. This year, the charge increased to ?40.00, value for money?
  24. Have people seen the reports in the recent news of a Southwark council tenant and their ongoing experiences of flooding: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-london-57402085 https://www.itv.com/news/2021-06-07/i-cant-live-like-this-mum-whose-roof-collapsed-after-persistent-leaks-tells-itv-news-her-son-could-have-been-killed
