  1. ok, so I visited the health centre for the first time, and I have mixed feelings with my first visit. I went into the main entrance, and notice a security man on the right behind a screen. He advised me the GP p0ractice was upstairs. The signage was not that clear, and I accidentally went into some bay with nurses (again no signage) I was redirected, and notice a small sign mounted on the arm of the stairs facing the wrong way. I went up the stairs, to be presented with a huge covid19 sign. I also saw some chairs, again unsure of what to do. I saw on my right two staff behind a screen, one was on the phone so I stood in front of the second person. I was ignored and after a few minutes I asked the member of staff if they could help me, the lady continued typing, showed no eye contact and said she will be with my in a moment. There was no one behind me. The lady finally acknowledged me, and I told her I was here for a GP appointment, I was told to use another reception staff in the corner. To be honest I was not impressed. I informed the next person I spoke to, that I was here for an appointment, and I was told to take a seat. I informed the staff member, I had a separate problem to talk to a GP about (I was seeing a nurse. I was advised I needed to make another appointment, I asked if I could do this with her, and she replied "no" I have to call in. While waiting I made a call to the health centre to book an appointment, the 30th of November was the earliest. , or I need to call back at 8 am on Monday. The nurse was five minutes late and called my name. As I got up, the nurse started walking along the corridor (no introduction) he waited at the room, once he saw me, he entered the room. He asked me to sit on one of the chairs, i sat on the wrong one (he did not specify) there were two patient chairs. He told me after the jab to have a blood test, no explanation, I had to ask. The environment was modern but lacked the community spirit found in a GP practice. That was my first time there, I really hope I never need to return until the next flu jab. Are there any other good GP Practices in the area, that offer good service?
  2. out of interest, what are the rules for parking at the health centre?
  3. thank you all for your contributions
  4. Thank you for your response, I don't have any covid symptoms, but as mentioned above, I have been asked to attend the flu clinic. You mention the surgery is safe, so as you have used the surgery, it would be good to know what exactly is in place there?
  5. I received a text message from the Tessa Jowell Doctors practice, uring me to contact them after 5 pm to arrange a flu jab appointment. Not needed to visit them since they moved into the new surgery, but wondering, is it safe to even attend the surgery, with covid? have they got any preventative measures in place?
  6. I have not noticed, I would hate to lose my moggy. I have microchipped mine, but would hate for her to get lost, be taken or worse :(
  7. Thank you, I have voted for labour councillors all my life, I cant wait for the local elections to come arounf.
  8. ok, I will try that, thank you.
  9. hello all, I know the Controlled Parking Zones in ED and West Peckham have been documented but wanted to confirm, I have the correct facts. The council consulted on both zones in 2018 / 19 and most residents rejected the idea of CPZ being introduced. As part of the consultation, the council asked if a CPZ was introduced nearby, would they consider a CPZ, and most said yes. On the basis of the second question with an overwhelming yes, the CPZ was introduced - are my facts correct? On a slightly different point, the enforcement of both CPZ was not carried out during March, April, and May due to covid, does this mean drivers who paid the stealth tax are owed three months in the cost?
  10. hello all, I hope all is well. I am currently in the middle of raising a complaint with the LB Southwark. I am using a resolver which requests which department I want to complain to. I have no idea what blue badge applications come under - Transport? Adult services? environment? I am aware of the complaints policy in Southwark, but just deed the actual department name for blue badges. I have tried to use the council's website and even goggled, but nothing comes up, can anyone kindly help?
  11. Thank you for the contributions, I contacted the lady today, she still feels upset and keeps comparing the service before at the store, and other stores with her recent experience. she is very adamant of not returning, but I hope that changes
  12. Hello all, I wonder if someone can help? Since the lockdown, many supermarkets have limited the number of customers into their stores, which have led to outside queues. Most companies have recognized critical workers across the country and vulnerable shoppers by allowing these shoppers to access the front of the queue. An elderly shopper I know has visited most supermarkets by using her crutches or on her scooter. Usually, the lady has presented herself at the entrance of the supermarket, and security has always waved her through. yesterday around 6 pm, the elderly lady visited Sainsbury's ED. She parked in one of the disabled parking bays and was watched by the security officer close to the main entrance. As the elderly lady made her way to the entrance, she did not receive the usual welcome but told to sit on some chairs inside the store. She was confused, but confirmed and sat on the chairs. seconds later 15 shoppers in the line were told to walk in. the lady still continued to wait. minutes later another 15 shoppers were let in. by this time the lady was becoming increasingly distress. she felt like people were staring at her. she started to approach security and was told to go in. The entire experience has left her feeling upset and not wanting to return to the store. anyone have any thoughts?

  14. I will be putting a thank you sign on my bin this week.
  15. so where does that leave hundreds of residents like me who paid the ?125.00 permit?
  16. Does anyone know if enforcement is taking place with the West Peckham Zone?
  17. so if the council is only issuing "warnings" for four weeks, where does this sit with residents who have actually carried out what the council advised and paid in time for the new restrictions?
  18. I hope everyone who has a vehicle has now purchased their parking permit? I notice the signs have now been uncovered, and operations for enforcement would commence on Monday 30th March. Please dont get a ticket, get your permit online asap.
  19. I hope everyone has their permit in place now. The signs have now been uncovered, and enforcement of the zone commences on monday morning from 9:00am.
  20. Hey mayfly, have you tried calling them?
  21. wow, interesting to learn the ED CPZ is all day and the west peckham cpz is two hours a day. our of interesting did you purchase your permit on the telephone?
  22. I am attending a meeting tonight at The Belham Primary School - Bellingham Road @ 7pm meeting name: Traffic Chaos! It is a mess, I have been emailed today that I have now passed "verification" I am dreading now trying to make payment, my letter introducing the CPZ gives me a number to pay on, how do I think that is going to go, mmmmmmmmmmmmmm I think my councillors have let me down on this scheme, and I will be punishing them at the next ballot box. I will feed back at the meeting, i hope the council is there, my experiences of their parking department is rubbish. this is on top of the new garden charge and parks parking charges, well done southwark, keep bleeding us money
  23. That is strange, because I got the same message yesterday as well
  24. so yesterday i brought my driving licence to work with me, and scanned it to my work email. I then sent the scanned picture to my personal email. next i saved the scanned the picture onto my pc. I tried to log onto the parking account, but i could not get the site up, so i decided to email a copy of the driving licence to parking. will parking send me a acknowledgement or response? I am still no where near purchasing the permit, this service is rubbish
