  1. For those who share a brown bin, has anyone had conversations with neighbours and devised paying 50% each???
  2. The London Borough of Southwark have or are proposing extra charges in the borough, which has an affect of ED residents. New charges to park at the lovely parks we have. New charges for the brown bin / brown sacks. Proposed new charges for a CPZ in the ED and West Peckham areas. Increase Council tax bill Is this the start of a strapped cash local authority, or an alternative to generate cash?
  3. would you get a refund if there is a missed collection by veolia?
  4. tomskip, Ed and West Peckham are going to be hit by ?125.00 a year to park on their road, and also going to have to pay ?25.00 to have their garden waste emptied. It might be "inordinate amount of fuss over almost nothing" for you, but there are many questions which clearly need answering for many residents. While residents have been told of the charge in the form of a letter, there has been little information with this charge which i am sure you can understand!!
  5. Hoiw will the ?25.00 work, when neighbours share a brown bin?
  6. On my street, The brown bin is shared between two people, so would we pay half each, or would the council charge us full price for one bin? what happens if one neighbour pays the charge, and the other does not??? flats where i am have numbers, and a flats eg Flat 1 + Flat 1a, etc.... i assume the bin would have the addess/es on the brown bin, so two addresses for us then?
  7. So our council tax bills from our local council has now hit the letter boxes of east dulwich on and beyond. My bill arrived on 14th March 2019. London Borough of Southwark - increased just under the max od 2.99% Greater London Authority - increased by 8.93% Adult Social Care - percentage stay the same. Total increase: 11.92% value for money, or something else????
  8. Hello All, The melbourne Grove medical practice is moving in the furture to the new built health centre on Melbourne Grove. I received a ketter this morning to say the concordia (company who operates the service) has been tendered, and secured another five years contract. A thumbs up for Patiants, or a nice little earner for concordia?
  9. I am assuming the closing date has come and gone, anyone know what happons next?
  10. Hello Medusa, thank you for the heads up, sorry to hear about your son, is he ok????
  11. I think it is pot luck, there are some truly terrific reception staff, and then there are some who need to move on. One of the things I have notice recently is a turn over of supply GPs, and the GPs often review medication on your repeat. If there is medication which can be purchased over the counter, or what the GP feels you dont need, the medication without warning will be removed from your repeat perscrption, so you will hear of this practice when you next request medication. Last month there was a lot of supply GPs, I gave the usual 48 hours notice for a repeat medication, and went to the pharmacy to be told i had to visit melbourne grove. I went there, and the prescrption was at reception, i asked why the prescription was not with the pharmacy, and told they they only had supply GPs on today. Haf to return back to the pharmacy!! Finally, are you aware the practice is moving to East Dulwich community hospital? we as neighbours received a letter from the practice, which stated "as your aware" and provided us with the information, it was the first myself and neighbours were made aware of the move. So answer to your question, this company does have problems.

  21. Hello Pecksniff, I am surprised no takers, have you thought about advertising in nearby Children centres????
  22. The Lordship Lane Veterinary Surgery took over from the bank closure last year. I am loving the yellow signage outside, but wanted to know, is it actually any good? costings? quality?
  23. Hello to the OP, I think your daughter handled this impeccable, well done to her and u. I am pleased to learn you have reported this to the police, and I also suggest you talk to your daughters school as well. You can styart with the class teacher. Have you also sat down with your daughter??? she might of been deeply affected by this experience. Tell her she did the right thing!!
  24. Copleston Road can be difficult sometimes to park, but I usually find somewhere to put the car. I often do see the commuters in the morning, park up and head to the station like bees. I am not in support of the introduction of a Controlled Parking Zone. I am sure the introduction of a zone would follow aggressive parking enforcement, deliveries not taking place, people not visting any more, and commuters simply parking further afield. My experiences simply does not warrent a CPZ, does anyone else feels this way? While I like the commitment of cleaner neighborhoods, I cant stop thinking, this has to be a way of generating income. Drivers already pay a premium in high insurance premiums (fueled by ecess personal claims), increasing petrol prices, Increase car duty, congestion zone, omissions zone in a few months, and now a charge to park not out side your home, not even on your road, but within the zone!! Has anyone submitted their feedback to the council as yet?
  25. Hello Marleylover, i am so sorry to learn of your lost. Your post really upset me. Infact I have my moggy laying on one of my arms as I type this, ans I could not understand for one moment life without her!! The good thing is, your little one is now free from pain and looking down at you. I know you will treasure the good moments you both shared with each other. I can only assume that it is not that we live in a uncaring world, but that people simply do not know what action to take when a cat is injured in the early hours of the morning. This thread will alert others. Lots of cat hugs for you XXX
