Most electors should of received there polling card now. There has been some boundary changes, so some will now be voting in new wards for the first time. The deadline for postal votes was on the 18th April, so if you have missed this date, you can no longer apply for a postal vote. If an elector will be unable to attend a polling station on May 3rd, you can apply for a proxy vote, which allows someone else to attend the polling station and cast a vote on your behalf. The deadline for applying for a proxy vote is 5pm 25th April 2018. If your not registered to vote, you have left it too late, but you can check if you are registered, and you dont need a polling card to cast a vote. http://www.southwark.gov.uk/council-and-democracy/voting-and-elections/2018-borough-council-elections

Hello all, have you registered to vote again? Each year Southwark Council sends out Household Enquiry Forms to households (HEF). These were sent out in July 2017. If you have not responded to this form, or have moved into the borough, you must register to vote as soon as possible. Southwark Canvassers are visiting households from 31st August 2017. For further information, please click on the link below. http://www.southwark.gov.uk/council-and-democracy/voting-and-elections/the-annual-electoral-canvass

I found this from the thames water website: Low pressure & no water tonight? Message last updated Monday 21st August 2017 - 22:04. If you have no water or low pressure tonight, it?s likely to only be temporary whilst we look for leaks. We actively look for leaks to try and prevent bursts from happening and to reduce wastage. Whilst looking for leaks we also check that all of our equipment works as expected. Sometimes we have to turn some valves on and off to monitor the flow of water, allowing us to find any leaks. Tonight we?re working in: E2, EN9, E12, EN7, E15, E17, NW8, SW1, W2, SW6, NW10, W1, SE16, SE9, SW19, SE1, KT5, SE22, SE1, KT2, SE6, W3, & W12

Are high rise buildings in and around ED safe?
trinidad replied to trinidad's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I guess this comes into the spotlight after news reports of the Ledbury Estate close to old Kent Road being evacuated following fears of gas issues. https://www.southwarknews.co.uk/news/gas-supplies-ledbury-estate-tower-blocks-switched-off-tests-give-rise-fear-historic-structural-flaws/ -
Hello all, does anyone know why the news agent on Grove vale / Elsie Road is now closed?? The new sign suggests another nail bar will be opening. There is already a nail shop a few doors away, and a few streets away in Melbourne Grove. The Guy who takes the orders in the Chinese takeaway, said the shop has been going for many years. Anyone know more??

Street Lighting - Useless Southwark Council
trinidad replied to ChrisHolliday's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Whats the progress of the lights, all fixed?? -
Last night, as I returned home, I notice a vehicle parked outside my house. I notice also the window of the drivers side was completely open. I knew it was driven by a fellow neighbour across the road, but unsure of the exact house. I crossed the road, and knocked on one of the houses. After knocking a few times, a lady appeared, and said she did not own the vehicle, but escorted me to another house. I knocked on the second house, and the neighbour opened a upstairs window. I checked if the vehicle was there, and then told the neighbour of the window. They were really pleased I told them, I had never spoken to the neighbour before, despite living on the street for double figure. Is this commen in ED, or do people in ED look the other way these days?

Are you suggesting when the bus lights are red, the buses are not suppose to wait at the red lights? Also the broken white lines are AFTER the bus lights, so sometimes the buses have gone through the bus green lights, but have not had enough time to join the main road of traffic, as the main road users have a green light
-
This has been puzzling me for some time. I am referring to the bus lane coming down DKH (from cambwell). At the end of the bus lane, there are some additional lights which allows the bus to go first. Once the bus drives passed the lights, there are some broken give way white lines on the road, and then the pinch point develops into a single lane traffic under the railway bridge. My question is, as there are broken white lines after the bus lane traffic lights, are buses expected to wait and give way to traffic, or have the right of way???

Many residents from ED use camberwell grove to get to Camberwell and Peckham areas, or to commut home, but for months now the railway bridge has remained closed with no information displayed, and none provided by any official body. I have just read a page from the Southwark council website, a lengthy piece of information, going on about streathening the bridge, and TFl pulling out the funding. Cracks are present, costing the council 17K plus. There has been a number of complaints, including some Camberwell grove residents wanting to close the road completely. This has now led to a consultation, which will be completed in september 2017. Although the link below is not dated, I think it is the current information from the council: http://www.2.southwark.gov.uk/info/200083/roadworks_and_highway_improvements/585/bridges_subways_and_walls/2?utm_content=&utm_medium=email&utm_name=&utm_source=govdelivery&utm_term=

In the wake of the terrible tragic event which occurred in West London, how safe are the high rise buildings and housing estates in and around East Dulwich?
