  1. had mine with Pedder (Dulwich Village) annd wouldn't recommend them - communication and attitude was terrible. Keatings so far have been great. Finding the market difficult at the moment though - is ANYONE buying out there??
  2. My garden has got out of control suddenly & I need help. Is there an experienced & recommended garder who can help next weekend? Thanks

  7. I wonder about managing with out an estate agent & doing one of those on line ones. I am shocked at how much they charge making the cost of moving astronomical! genuinely, what do they addd?
  8. I'm really looking forward to it..... time for celebration & a bit of good old flag waving. there isn't enough patriotism!

    Choumert

I have a friend who is looking to move to SE London & is going to see somewhere on Choumert Road or Square - I don't know which nor do I know the area. is anyone from the area... what's it like to actually live there? she is young & comes from a slightly rarefied rural community... any advice? thoughts? comments about the neightbourhood? your help is appreaciated!
  10. last week I did my first parkrun in Brockwell park & would encourgage anyone who fancies a 5k on a Saturday morning to come along. there are those who complete it in double quick time but most of us are a bit more normal.... I finished in just over 30mins it is a timed run & is free... best of all you can be in the cafe for justifiable cakes by 10!! have a look at this..... Brockwell parkrun
  11. Cassidy - you were right...... 4.30. feel better for a quick 5k
  12. thanks cassidy. I tried the Southwark website & the Friends of Dulwich park - both without sucess. I'm planning a bit of post-Christmas run & will work on the basis you are right....it won;t be too much of a desaster if not!! thanks again
  13. does anyone know what time Dulwich park closes today? many thanks

DJKillaQueen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Exactly Mac.....there are areas that could be > trimmed without having to beg from the public or > to cut front line services. really? what do you think could be cut??? nurses - no you won;t mean them..... doctors.... nah. ah! those who book your appointments maybe? or the clerks who pull your notes? maybe the pharmacists? cleaners - oopps, contraversal again. what about x-ray people? receptionists? blood takers? I expect you mean the managers - those who organise the clinics to try to keep them to time, those who make sure that all resources are used properly, operating theatres full.........

  16. if you back up a bit there is a comment asking why the staff at kings don't take a cut back if things are that tight - this came to mind on Saturday as I listened to patrick Kielty on radio 2 talking about an Elvis event that the station had run in hyde park the previous weekend. He was trying to say how good a job they had done of organising the day & to do that mentioned his free ticket & how good the food was backstage. Apparently Freddie Flintoff's mother was there with Freddie taking pic's of her with famous people. It is impossible for me to estimate how much of the taxpayers money was wasted feeding the rich & famous deep fried bananas......... leave NHS bosses wages alone - they are at least trying to improve to make it work...... it's time the BBC made proper cutbacks & reduced the obscene wages of DJ's & presenters.......surely stopping this sort of expenditure & redirecting the lienence payers money to the NHS would solve a this nonsense! Imagine how many more nurses could be employed for the price of Patrick Keilty's salary!!!

  18. surely it's better not to give them the publicity of naming them here? if I get something through the post I don't open it but return to sender - particually rewarding if you do open it & find a free-post envelope to put it in!
  19. this is a sorry state of affairs & a sad reflection on the community if it is so quick to damn attempts by the local hospital to provide a high level of care. Peckham Rose your posts about raising this concern at the Public meeting were hugely misleading - looks of horror??? really???? I doubt very much that the Fundraising Dept wrote the letters without careful consideration. As you have given the COE's e-mail address I hope that everyone here will drop him a line in recognition of the care that is delivered & local support
  20. is he the blond chap with floppy hair??

Serves the bugger right. that was James Fixx who had smoked for years before he starting running. He died following a heart attack at the age of 52 with severly blocked arteries but having outlived the age his father died at by ten years - a fate that might have killed him sooner were it not for running!
