Yep you are correct, concrete should not be poured as ice crystals will form, also, the asphalt surface course can not be laid at these temperatures, also the plastic gas pipes are heat welded together which would be very difficult in this wet and cold weather

Peckham Rye station needs more than one ticket machine. It was broken this morning and only one ticket window open ? total ball ache. You could easily get a couple more machines to the left of the ticket windows where there are information boards showing train time which I rarely see anyone using.

God knows what has just happened in the bogs here at work. Out of the 3 cubicles; 1 has had the toilet seat broken off and by the looks of it someone?s arse has exploded, the door is hanging off the middle one and the third the handle is missing but someone has left a present for us to appreciate and others have added to it to form a stinking, fermenting concoction. I was in Berlin the other weekend. The double-deckers they use there are much longer than what we have, they have stairs at the front and back and 3 doors. They would work here as they have a steering rear axle like the large national express coaches and could easily cope on the roads the bendys use now.

Sounds as if they should get their act together! If you compare it to the Rye Hotel yesterday, which was absolutely ridiculously busy yesterday afternoon, they are missing out on lucrative Sunday trade.

I did a little pub crawl yesterday lunch everywhere else I went to or looked in was pretty busy. The EDT was quite dead and no one was eating. Is there something wrong with the food here, I never tried it myself. Good pint of Doombar though.

I got shown around the Bernard Mathew?s abattoir / factory quite a few years back. The mechanically recovered meat process is an interesting procedure??.. You can try it yourself. Get your pressure washer you use to clean the patio from your garage. Get a load of bones and carcasses from the butcher and then liberally hose the bones down until they are bright white and clean. Scoop up the resulting grey-sodden-meaty-mush and place in a press to remove as much water as you can. Chuck in some food dye and form the meaty paste into any shape you wish and cover in breadcrumbs. Enjoy

This is a dull couple one too. This probably saves more if you use electric more than gas. I got my single rate electricity meter changed to a dual rate meter and set my water heater immersion to come on over night and it is saving me quite a bit a month. They may try to charge you to fit it but they can?t if you use electricity to heat your place ? just argue with them. (You?ll need your electrics checked first too)
