The full list of Southern services is below although this does not help you with your journeys to London Bridge and Victoria. 12. Good morning and yes I am still alive, apologies for not being on the forum for a few weeks. There is so much going on at the moment and my team and I are working very hard behind the scenes to improve the service we provide, so here is a quick update on whats happening within the Streatham Hill Area and London Bridge * From 30th April, everyone of my stations will be staffed from 1st to last service. This means from 0530 to 0030, they will be staffed by gate/platform staff or by Ticket Office Clerks where we have no barriers. So for example East/North Dulwich will be serviced by the clerks. I would like to think that there will never be an issue queuing for tickets once this is implemented * A new role has been created, again from 30th April, Rail Neighbourhood Officers will be patrolling train stations and services in conjunction with the British Transport Police * I have just signed a contract with a company to clean every single sign in my area (the old BR Logos at each station for example) They will will also be looking at some more deep cleans over the next few weeks * I have recently instructed another company to clear rubbish from stations, they took away in excess of 3.1 Tons, I was quite shocked by this * I have also instructed another company with a further 32k contarct to ensure every sign, poster frame, safety mirror is in absolute prime condition, they will also undertake minor works on platforms, remove grafitti on stations, highlight stairs where faded, these works are due to start in the next week and again this will cover everyone of my stations. This is quite a comprehensive program of works and too much to list here * Tulse Hill Subway: will now get the much needed works to renovate the subway, we have secured funding from Network Rail in a joint partnership with Southern to get these works done. However, this will mean the rear entrance closing for 3 weeks *East Dulwich hand rails have finally been signed off and will be installed this spring/summer (sorry for delay on this one) * Queens Road Peckham will finally see the works commence this summer/autumn for the new ticket office to be built on the ground level * Peckham Rye, all the grafitti has now been removed from the main tower and I am really pleased with this work. We are now looking at further renovations on platforms 1/2 as this can become quite overcrodwed due to buildings not being in use, the booking hall and stairs to 1 and 2 are also pencilled in for further works * The London Bridge and Streatham Hill Area (16 stations) will be renamed Metro East and this will see an increase of 40 staff to meet our obligations. In effect the two areas I manage will be come one * Balham NSIP (National Stations Improvement Programme) will commence this summer and will mean a complete new entrance being built, new ticket office and booking hall * London Bridge: The projects at this station are a little more in depth, however I can comment on the following. A brand new Gate Line mirroring Waterloo will be build this year and will be expected to finish in approxiamtely one year. As you come off the trains and enter the gates you can see and office block (my offices) that spans across the gates. The demolition of this block is due to commence on 1st June. I am currently working very closely with Network Rail and Mace to ensure there is no disruption to passenger flows when they commence works. * The "Shard" is due to finish in May 2012, part of this project will mean that London Brdige will get the much needed makeover that is needed when this phase is completed. Again I am working closely with companies ensuring the best for our passengers. My plan is to update you all with more of this project over the next few weeks. There is a viewing platform outside to the left of London Bridge and you can see already they have built up to floor 20, another 69 to go. There is much more we are working on, however I will update you again very shortly as there is enough here to be getting on with I welcome your comments or any suggestions to improve the service we provide at stations, please remember I do not cover train services but can forward to the right people Regards Barry Jones Station Manager
  13. Hi I am at london bridge first thing tomorrow morning, I will look into this as my first task of the day Barry
  14. Hi I will mention this at my next meeting with the BTP and revenue team Barry
  15. Are you at london bridge in the morning? Barry
  16. Revenue protection officers, to protect revenue, penalty fares, etc Rail enforcement officers, to enforce railway by laws, will be a presence on trains and stations ensuring safety, they also have powers to issue fines, help with anti social behaviour, This is very brief, but hopefully you can see the difference in roles. As I said, once they are up and running I will post on station manager corner Barry
  17. Good evening I have spoken to my colleague briefly at FCC, he is aware of this thread . Can't promise anything but we will be speaking tomorrows about the forum and the contribution I make on here. You never know he may set something up Barry Jones Station manager
  18. I think I need to have a chat with the chief inspector, I am concerned about the dogs!! Joking aside, you will see more and more of these operations in my area. In addition southern will soon be introducing Rail Enforcement Officers, they will on trains and on stations. For example they will have powers to enforce ?80 on the spot fines for smoking on station premises, anti social behaviour, graffiti to mention a few I will update on station manager corner once they go live on the routes Barry Jones Station manager
  19. Dear all As per my earlier posting, trains running subject to delays and cancellations but we are running!! London Bridge fine and points problems have been rectified Regards Frosty
  20. Morning What can I say....... Southern experiencing severe delays on all routes, on top of this there are points problems at London Bridge causing major disruption in and out of station. Southern are trying to run a service however staff (drivers/platform staff) are delayed getting in. Most trains are running between 30/60 minutes behind schedules I am asking for patience and again understand your frustrations so please bear with us, in addition staff will clear platforms and walkways once the snow has stopped. The information I have that it will continue to snow untill about 12/1300hrs. The live departure information is on the southern website We will do our dam hardest to get you home and have your stations cleared UPDATE London Bridge Underground is open All southern tickets can be used on buses, trams, underground (if you can get one of course) Barry Jones Station Manager Streatham Hill Area/London Bridge
  21. Hi All There seems to be some confusion her, this does not refer to a Waiting Room but in fact an additional platform shelter which is needed on the London bound platform. If you look back through older posts there have been many requests for this. In addition there is an order waiting to be processed for the handrails for both pathways Hope this clarifies Barry
  22. Hi again I was quite concerned by posts so I have called the main man at my HQ Control, to confirm Southern Metro normal time table is operating for London Bridge (NO ISSUES) First Capital Connect, running services down from 1800 Southeastern running services down from 2000hrs Regards Barry Jones Station Manager London Bridge/Streatham Hill Area
  23. Hi Thankfully I am not a chocolate teapot, and to reiterate Southern is running a normal service for the Metro which serves your stations, there are a few delays and as you can see passengers are getting home ok Regards Barry
  24. Hi Metro Services are fine from London Bridge, a few minutes here and there. Redhill a few issues but this dosn't affect you Regards Barry Station Manager
  25. Hi and thank you for comments Please be assured that all stations and especially East Dulwich are now clear, in addition I sent my guys to buy 50 bags of sand to help alleviate the issues Barry
