  1. What's all the commotion? Never heard so many sirens. And two helicopters overheard. Hearing all this from Barry road area, but it sounds as though is going from LL
  2. Arrived 40 minutes late (and a whopping 2.5 hours after ordering!) Food was cold Popadums & mango (no other sauces or salad; popadums were like the sort you get pre made in the supermarket) Starter (their recommended chicken kebab) was aweful Chicken special main was good Bottom line for me - more expensive and less tasty than others. And no apology for taking 2.5 hours to deliver it!
  3. Sounds interesting - good luck with this
  4. Defintely the Bishop. We always take our non-ED friends there and they comment on the quality of men there. Plus they have some hot barmaids for the guys :)
  5. "I have decided to stop eating organic meat to show my support for the farmers and I hope others will follow suit.." brilliant twist of logic here ;)
  6. We had V+ and broadband installed about 6 months back and have had no problems. Plus its SO cheap! I don't quite know how they work out the bill, but it always come in around ?35 for telephone, family pack tv channels, 2MB broadband and V+ (like sky+)
  7. This is great news for Dulwich. Looks like the Rosendale has come on a long way since the 2 for 1 pizzas of yesteryear!
  8. We also got a note through the door, BEFORE they had come to collect our recyling.
  9. The best burger in ED, IMHO, is that served in The Bishop. But I'm currently in LA, so enjoying the far better burger at "In & Out" ;)
  10. Our tickets for the Big Chill this weekend have been lost at the Sylvestor Road sorting office. We called the festival organisers (having got nowhere with the Royal Mail customer services), and they said they'd had lots of problems with tickets going to our postcode area. We should be ok to collect replacement tickets at the event, but its typically poor service from RM. So pleased that they have lost their monopoly.
  11. I also think Barcelona is very good. Second only to maison de philipe in Waterloo, IMHO. Agree its pricey though. We tend to only go for tapas with minimum four people, otherwise you don't get the variety of dishes to share.
  12. We checked it out last week. Great meal, decent prices and fantastic service. The original "Si Mangia" is in Crystal Palace.
  13. I've read through the whole thread, but am still unclear - has a new comedy night started at EDT? If so, can anyone provide details on dates and lineups? Would be great to have a comedy night on LL. Cheers, T
  14. Defintely be up for comedy upstairs at the EDT.
  15. >> One train every 20 minutes into town during rush hour... it is worse than anywhere else I've lived in or around London. Is that true? I can get to London Bridge or Victoria in under 35 minutes door-to-door via Peckham Rye station - perhaps you should try that instead of ED mainline.
  16. I would recomment Palmerston or Franklins; the latter being a little more pricey, and challening (i.e. lots of offal and game). Le Chardon is too hit-and-miss for taking the parents or in-laws. If you go for the Palmerston, you will need to ask for a non-smoking table, otherwise you will be sat in the bar, which aside from chance of smoke, can be noisy (but fun). Also, take them to Green & Blue for a glass of wine before dinner. T
  17. Commute to the City is excellent - you have London Bridge from East Dulwich or London Bridge from Peckham Rye or Blackfriars from Peckham Rye. All under 12 minutes. Also many people forget that you can take the train to London Bridge then take a train (every 2 minutes) to Charing Cross or Waterloo East, giving you further options for central London. Agreed that commute is not good for West London, but this is the case for all of South London.
  18. Cheers Mockers.. I'll defintely give El Rincon a try. T
  19. IMHO, the best Tapas in London is to be had at Meson don Felipe (Waterloo), but Barcelona is an excellent local choice. The Iberico ham is amazing.
  20. You'll find lots on this very debate on www.housepricecrash.co.uk/forum/ I'll warn you now, there are some really crazies on that forum :)
  21. Has anyone tried Buddha Jazz? Interested to know what you think - have been meaning to try it for ages. T
  22. Found this over at "SE5 Forum for Camberwell" Interesting to see what our neighbours think of us! http://www.se5forum.org/forum/index.php?topic=363.0 T
