He's the leader of the largest super power on the planet He's been invited He was voted for by a majority of Americans Nothing we can do to change any of the above You may not like him being here but there is really nothing that can be done to stop this happening No, I'm not a Trump fan either, however it's going to happen and he'll soon be gone and back on his way to the US of A.

Khan is not capable of that position And as they say "frying tonight"

Disagree. Where are the police when you need them? People want a police presence, they want to feel reassured by seeing them do what the word suggests, policing, so go catch some bad guys, arrest, charge and get the CPS to prosecute with the evidence to enable this to happen. Stabbing and shootings are so common place they no longer even get reported in the public domain. How many crimes don't get solved? Rather case closed and forgotten. The number of low to high level crimes which remain unsolved is staggering. The criminal fraternity know this, they know they won't get caught so they just carry on. Biggest crimes which affect most people, probably are phone and car theft and tool theft from tradesman (massively on the increase), both are prolific and what do the police do, diddly squat. zilch, nothing, provide a crime reference number and the case is closed. Not good enough, not by a country mile. Met Engage? I don't think so.

Or Burnham for Mayor of London
-
No they're not, generally London is becoming more lawless with less police and fewer and fewer police stations. Khan said he'd increase the numbers of police however the ploice commissioner said the opposite as the finances will not allow. Funny how the Mayor's proportion of the council tax was increased to cover policing but it ain't happening.

What standing on the world stage? Starmer is a wannebe leader, no charisma, no passion, no leadership but tonnes of dithering, wringing his hands and pooing his pants. I'd love to see Burnham give him a run for his money. Reason he became Mayor of Manchester was due to him no longer wanting to be in front line politics. This thread has now gone well off topic, perhaps it needs renaming. Mandy and Keith's bathrobe Or, how Mandy stuck it to Starmer

Try using their ask my GP an raise it as urgent and see if you get a quicker response. As an example had a telehone consultation on 4/9, was told by the GP to book a face to face which I did and that doesn't happen till 23/9. Why so long to be seen??????????????? Answers on a post card to Wes Streeting.

Yep Peter Mandelson is officially toast. But what now MUST happen is that the title of Lord and all the privileges which go with that should be removed immediately. It's a long way up the pole but it's an even longer way back down as Mandelson is finding out.

Lunchtime today, Peckham Park Road. Lime bike cyclist turns into Peckham Park road from the Old Kent Road, cycles onto the pavement, comes o a stop and leaves the bile in the middle of the pavement. This is what you're up against, Lime cyclists with no thought for others but themselves, selfish!!!!!!!!!

Would YOU trust the Met with your personal data? No chance. And why are you required to Register? They are a Police Service, not the FBI or CIA.

- had all the wrong connections at the wrong time - fraternised with some well dodgy blokes or rather one at least - smart and smooth talker - he has all the smoothness and ability to flatter - he is highly polished - skilled at making personal connections - never liked or trusted the chap, reminiscent of a slime ball

we all win, if we utilise the grey economy what we pay saves 20%, win win really
-
The grey economy means cash in hand jobs result in The Chancellor not getting any tax (VAT)

PYTCHLEY ROAD, SE22: ROUTE P13 towards New Cross Sainsbury's is on diversion via Dog Kennel Hill, Grove Vale, East Dulwich Road, Peckham Rye and Rye Lane due to an emergency services incident. Buses will not serve stops from 'Pythchley Road' to 'Blenheim Grove'.

I'm trying to be civil, see things from different perspectives and avoid arguments. The grey economy is cash in hand, so no tax to be paid, Chancellor loses out, we all win. Zero hrs contracts must be tough not knowing where or when the next work is coming from. My position might not be great, but with a bit of sensible weekly shopping, stocking up on best buys etc. one survives and life ain't that bad.

Fair points, not arguing with you on them. What people forget is that immigrants or low skilled workers do the jobs the home population don't want to do and without those jobs being done, things very quickly grind to a halt, i.e. hospital cleaners, all very necessary, but I'd have thought the majority are on minimum wage. And Minimum Wage (35hrs/wk) isn't exactly what I'd call minimum. Just over £21K, easily double and a bit more than what I get in monthly pension income to live off.
