And he's clearly not the brightest or sharpest tool in the box either, just like Starmer, Reeves, Streeting et al.

You have your opinion, I have mine, just at different ends of the spectrum. Just wait and see how painful the 26/11 will be. She's going to sting each and everyone of us. I think you'll find the majority of those in this country think she's screwed up the economy good and proper. Only those who are totally loyal to that Party will think she's done good when the facts and figures show she's done bad.

Should Rachel Reeves target offshore ownership of residential properties?
jazzer replied to vladi's topic in The Lounge
What has happened to the rest of this thread? Where's it gone? Who asked for it to be taken down? Disgraceful -
More like a sinking ship than "the safest ship we have to choose from right now" . Gaff after Gaff after gaff, get calamity Starmer et al OUT at the first opportunity. You'll all soon see on November 26th when Reeves steers UK into an economic iceberg and the sinking really happens when our pockets get plundered by her, any which way she can take, take, take from us all. We won't have anything left because the State will own and control everything, if you want to live under that type of regime, fine, but I don't, so get up and JUST SAY NO to Starmergedeon and Reevesageddeon.

But his son designed it, so effectively YES.

"Surely easy enough for a native like yourself " assumptions, assumptions, assumptions, not a good starting point. Now as we've been getting along so well, let's not spoil it. We can be the same but different as well. I speak like a native, educated like a native, worked as and with other natives, look like a native but I'm not one of them. See theirs this thing called indirect prejudice, have a surname that isn't that of a native and some, a minority I agree, will try and have one over on you, because they think they're better, or you're inferior to them. When you've experienced it first hand, you don't forget and get ready for the next time, then call it out, they don't like that. They don't appreciate that being part British having been born here but as I also have continental ancestry, which I am proud off, it gives me a different perspective of living amongst the natives here, so I can not, nor do I ever want to be a native here. I am me and they are what they are.

I'd never heard of the word and I thought neither might others heard of it, so I googled and posted it if that's allowed?? "Book him "Danno"

think from memory there was a programme about this, they go to China and get re-sold. A trade exists and we suffer as a result.

Should Rachel Reeves consider a tax on overseas remittances?
jazzer replied to vladi's topic in The Lounge
I'd have guessed a lot of these transactions are people sending funds overseas to support family in poorer countries and you think they should be taxed on that. so you want to see hard working possibly disadvantaged people double taxed? That is utterly nuts. And perhaps just to reiterate what I stated earlier, if people are taking money overseas, it is to keep thieving Reeves fingers well away from their hard earned £. -

Should Rachel Reeves consider a tax on overseas remittances?

it doesn't matter what they do, we're talking here about the UK. Double taxing is immoral. not in keeping with "the we are for the working class2 clap trap. It's more like do as I say not as I do. Or in Rayners stance, I'll not pay the tax I'm due to pay or Starmer, I'll dodge £295k inheritance tax and buy my parents a donkey field. They're all donkey's who need being put out to pasture. -

So you'd like to see people double taxed on the money they earn first and then on any funds they transfer overseas, that's unfair and unjust. -

So stop all transferring of funds out of the UK. Have you had a thought as to why people may be doing this, they've had enough of thieving Reeves and want to protect their funds, hence moving it over sea's and out of the reach of Reeves. The 26th November will come around really quickly, then we'll become aware of what other actions Reeves is planning on taking to plunder all of us. The pot is only so deep and you can't get blood out of a stone. She'll actually create more austerity if she continues with her tax grabs. Rather than doing that, spend on essentials and not vanity projects. The employers NI hike has had a detrimental effect with employers reducing vacancies and shedding labour. Does she not see that business creates growth and not the Government directly. Her, Starmer, Streeting, Lammy and the rest of that motley crew need booting out of Government and be replaced by Badenoch and Stride who will stop the rot. Before Starmer and crew came into office inflation was down to 2%, since then month on month it's increased to somewhere around 3.8% and is expected, nay predicted, to reach in excess of 5% at the current rate. as a result unemployment will further increase and that has to be paid for through DWP. We are being gradually crippled by Reeves. Crutches and walking sticks at the ready!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

ditto, thanks for the update, appreciated🙂 IVANHOE ROAD, SE5: ROUTE P13 towards New Cross Gate Sainsbury's is on diversion via Dog Kennel Hill, Grove Vale, East Dulwich Road and Peckham Rye due to emergency works. Bus stops from 'Pytchley Road' to 'Blenheim Grove' will be missed. Towards Streatham Station, bus stops from 'Blenheim Grove' (Y) to 'Pytchley Road' will be missed.

FFS, never said it was TfL's fault did I ? Another munchkin who likes to twist what someone says, Suggest they do something because the next bus stop open is half way to the next parade of shops, not helpful at all. Something would be better than nothing, but then no level of inconvenience matters to TfL

Don't know about Lordship Lane, but Rye Lane 50 years ago would be four deep on the pavement on a Saturday, not no more then. Amazon and the supermarket home delivery services have one heck of a lot to answer for. Stop using them, get back to the shops before the choice becomes so limited. In fact, do one thing, ditch using Amazon.

Plus southern gas networks with the work being redone at Peckham Rye/|East Dulwich Road, resulting in both stops either side being "closed". There was a time when this NEVER happened, you know the good old days, and if it did they put out a temporary bus stop. So much for TfL's "every journey matters" slogan, I don't think so.
