  1. See link for those who have gone bust since January 2021 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-58626018 If you're on a fixed tariff, probably safest to sit tight and wait till the tariff ends, then shop around either with your current supplier or with others in the market. Found comparing ?/Kwh easiest way to do this. Or Check out price comparison sites, bearing in mind they don't do it for free. Or If you're not on a fixed tariff (variable) I believe, hope that your supplier is not one of the four currently teetering on going bust and switch to a 12 month fixed tariff ASAP. Or If your supplier does go bust, Energy UK will switch you to a new supplier, your gas and elecricity will not go off, they guarantee that. And finally of you're with Bulb because someone on here was encouraging people to switch, just hope the Govt stump up the cash to bail out that supplier!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. That's terrible, I hope your friend is OK, was an ambulance called? And hoping the driver can be found.
  3. Thanks for posting this info, very helpful. What again, they only just fixed the main a couple of weeks ago and in fact I understood that it was gradually being replaced. When is this Thames Water shambles ever going to come to a conclusion??
  4. Coming to this late, so apologies. When I went past on the bus last week, it looked as though it is no longer possible to cut through from Peckham Road to Peckham Hill Street, am I wrong??
  5. Sister Sledge - Thinking of you
  6. Not clear why it's spilt and not a place where you'd expect it to split either. If you can remove the lower two brackets, replace the final piece of pipe with a new one from one of the local DIY stores or All Type roofing on the Lane, they may have an odd piece knocking around the yard (sort of opposite Rose the butcher) Or if that fails you could always try one of the local handy(wo)man
  7. I remember when it was Osgoods, next shop Express Dairy, then Jonathons and then at the end of that short parade of shops on the corner was the Greengrocers well before it became the Turkish Supermarket. There was a bakers (part of a local chain) where the Turkish Spa place is, and before that it was the TV repair shop.
  8. Sarah Harding (Girls Aloud) Only 39.
  9. That's going to give the three independents on the Lane and in Grove Vale a bit of competition to compete against, especially as it's a chain and that can probably run at lower margins, lets see what happens.
  10. Diane Schuur, Round Midnight from the LP Pilot of my destiny. Well worth a listen of you're into jazz vocals. just close your eyes and listen to her memorising voice.
  11. An all time favourite artist and pulled straight out the box, Bobby Womack, Tell me why.
  12. Grace Jones, Ladies and gentlemen, Miss Grace Jones
  13. So went pat this evening, the council have extended the kerb excessively and the only way two buses will pass is if one of them goes right up against the kerb, otherwise IMO no chance.
  14. The road modifications will result in buses pulling over as they do to let each other and other traffic pass by. I use the P13 every week through Whateley Road, all this will succeed in is to create a bottle neck. Personally I can't see the need for a zebra crossing being located there but residents may well have other opinions about this and good reason for wanting one. Perhaps because of the primary school located on the corner of Whately and LL it was thought necessary????
  15. Agents are not interested in talking to potential authors, they receive so many submissions that they quickly weed out those they are not interested in, probably 95%. They generally ask for a 500 word summary and either the first three chapters or the whole book. Responses take a long time if you are luckily enough to get one, they as a general rule don't provide feedback. It's a hard slog to get picked up by one who'll represent you.
  16. Can I suggest taking a look at the built out kerbs, based on Friday's experience I can't see this being possible, but as P68 has said, time will tell..............
  17. Another bizarre decision by LB Southwark to slow down and bottle neck traffic. Does Whateley Road really need a zebra crossing? But why widen the pavement to the extent it stops buses passing each other, utter madness, the lunatics really are running the asylum at LBS.
  18. Time to jazz it up for the weekend, so lets get things started with this gem from Stanley Turrentine - Papa T. The theme tune and introduction from the infamous Invicta Radio and back in the day Bluebird records on Church Street Paddington - just reminiscing
  19. The continual unnecessary and repetitive use of the words whatever and like in spoken language. Add awesome to the list.
  20. Gene Chandler, I'll make the living if you make the lovin' worthwhile
  21. Austin Mitchell, politician
  22. Monmouth coffee beans based near south bermondsey
  23. I'd say from hearing neighbours experience of Equity Release, simply DON'T do it at any cost. The cumulative interest is crippling.
