The going home for the weekend song thread...come on you groovey foookers
jazzer replied to ????'s topic in The Lounge
So here we go again, another weekend looming, Christmas just a week away. What better way than to have great going home for the weekend tunes. I'll start with Jean Carn featuring Glenn Jones, "Sweet and Wonderful". -
Have to agree, day by day it looks worse for Boris, a loss of an almost 23,000 majority is a Huge loss. So I suspect that unless BJ "can pull a rabbit out of the hat" it's looking darker and blear than it has for a very long time.

How, what, when, where, how? I'd suggest providing evidence before sweeping in with your statement... Evidence, evidence, evidence??? The NHS are LIFE savers, literally. So can you please just take a step back and stop knocking the organisation. Unless you have experienced it first hand, you'll never ever know what an utterly amazing job they do day in, day out, 24hrs a day, 365 days Every Year. My evidence - (from personal experience on the receiving end). I'll be eternally grateful for what they did for me. And yes things do go wrong, it's medical science but they try damn hard.

Straight out of todays bag, a banging tune Billie and a track called "Nobody's Business". -
He bumbles from catastrophe to catastrophe, I've a feeling his days may begin to become numbered. The next question is, who would take over the rudder, is there anyone capable of leading the country and not repeating the safe mistakes. I suppose we also can consider that no one in our life time has dealt with anything as serious as Covid, so they are firefighting (to coin a phrase) day by day. As for Downing Street parties, if they are stupid enough to meet for a large gathering, Christmas party or not, be it on their own heads and they take the risk, If they want to take the chance of catching Covid, well, personally let them. I couldn't give a hoot, I've other things to deal with in my own life. They can lie, but in time as we are witnessing the lies surface and the liar gets called out. whether he faces any disciplinary action is hugely unlikely, he's the PM and what he says will go.

Newspaper Availability at Grove Vale Library
jazzer replied to Brideshead's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I don't get why you keep on re-submitting this thread, so you have a new thread each time, and HOW are you able to delete an entire thread, it should not be possible. I've got to say this is beginning to grate start a thread and let it run, don't (and I don't know how you can delete a thread) as you aren't doing yourself any favours. You have raised your concerns, whether people agree with you or not. Admin - Please can you explain how this poster is able to delete an entire thread which they started???????????? -
Grove Vale (East Dulwich) Library Mismanagement
jazzer replied to Brideshead's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Can appreciate your concerns and frustrations, and in particular as you know Dulwich library are providing newspapers. Obviously you'd like access to newspapers, so if the library are not currently providing these) although you say they have been instructed to do so), continue raising your concerns with the Library Services at Council HQ, hassle your Councillor (they are their to help you with your grievances) and in the meantime perhaps take a ride up to Dulwich Library and peruse at your leisure. -

Was in today, didn't see any greeters at the door, but tbh not a problem for me. Didn't see anyone cleaning trollies, baskets or checkouts either. Only saw this during second lockdown in Morrisons and that didn't last long there at the time. What was noticeable was that the deli counters have now been removed and replaced with a "humunges" chilled wine fridge, hot takeaway heated section and a general quick food section (sandwiches, crisps, drinks etc).

It's been reported that "bulb" energy has filed for Administration and will be run by the Government, see https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-59373198 That's a shocker and for 1ts 1,700,000 customers, the largest energy supplier to fold to date, three times the size of Avro who had 580,000 customers and folded. Who's next to go, because at this rate it could be any of the other larger players in the market who may follow, Ouch.................................
