  1. Rye Lane was shut without consultation to traffic because of covid to allow greater self distancing, well it can be re-opened just as quickly without consultation as well. Why should I be inconvenienced to walk from the Heaton Arm's to the bottom of Rye Lane to go to the Aylsham or to Lidl and then have to walk back with two bags of shopping. Why not re-instate the buses as they were before? Southwark have failed on several occasions already to close of the lane to traffic when they installed the non working pop up and down bollards, then the fiasco of the gas mains being replaced and before that Thames Water. All resulted in the closure of Rye Lane and great inconvenience to a lot of people. The closure is slowly killing the remaining businesses in Rye Lane, the snooker hall closed because it was difficult to get deliveries, the Post Office closed as well, people no longer feel safe at night, the graffiti "artists" are having a field day there. The traffic has been moved from Rye Lane to Copeland Road 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, how do you think they feel about all the extra traffic they now have to endure? Moving the extra traffic from one road to another Ain't the answer or the solution. You may not mind the inconvienience but guess what, I do, so BrInG bACk ThE BuSeS.

  3. Still people are travelling on buses NOT wearing masks today, even for short journeys. I am tiring of people not wearing a face covering, or using them as chin straps. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Totally agree, well stated Spartacus
  5. Simple:- Please wear; A face covering on public transport. In shops and enclosed spaces (other than your own home or a visitors home. Get both your Covid jabs and finally Treat others as you like to be treated And be kind to each other

  7. Southwark need to re-open Rye Lane before it's too late, traders must be suffering and it sure is a massive inconvenience for getting to the station banks etc.
  8. Weren't Smiths the greengrocers many years ago where Franco Manco and Pedder are?
  9. As they say another green grocer is taking over, no doubt they'll have found someone reputable to do the job, you'll just have to wait and see. Maybe they'll stock'em high and sell at more reasonable prices, the lane could do with more of that.

  11. Have a similar situation with a neighbour who had one and then a second dog. Lets them out first thing probably about 6 - 6.30am. As soon as they run outside they immediately bark for a few mins. This happens four or five times a day. I can hear them even when I'm sat in the front of the house. The barking noise carries forward. Has got worse since the second dog arrived about a year ago. They allow it to happen and have no consideration for their neighbours. But when they leave the back door open so the dogs can come and go, their is no barking. I think the dogs become so excited about going out that they respond with the barking. Earlier in the year they would let them out after 11.30pm t0 12.30am or even in the middle of the night as they were agitated by the local foxes and of course they bark. It doesn't last long but IMO is totally anti social behaviour. Same for the neighbour the other side who sits outside talking loudly on her phone with earphones in, again her annoying whinny voice carries in the air, so damn annoying. What to do??
  12. na mate, click and take a read, essentially it says khans vote share decreased by -.16% and Bailey increased his share by +1.6%. While khan won by 10.4%, lets see what he does or doesn't do in his second term. How much deficit will TfL carry forward, what will he do about LTN's, pollution, Ulez and how will the people react to this charge in addition to the congestion charge, will the tunnel go ahead, how and what is he intending to do to reduce crime and most importantly knife crime? Every life lost is a tragic. Lots of questions to answer, his actions will speak louder than his words. What London needs is cross party working, putting politics aside and the needs of the people first. Khan said on Saturday he wanted to represent those who did not vote for him, let's see if that is just a soundbite or if he actually means business in his second term???

  14. Absolutely agree with sentiments expressed by Jules, Nigello and Spartacus
  15. Totally agree with Sally buying, this is total madness, The majority of Rye Lane is already closed to traffic. If you rely on public transport getting to around the station is a nightmare. All the side roads are closed off so stopping access, all this will do is to slowly but surely strangle the remaining life out of Rye Lane. sally buying Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Perhaps if you were in the position of having to > walk miles to get a bus you might change your > mind. > > There are no convenient bus stops around. But as > you live in East Dulwich that does not concern > you.
  16. Anything that dispatches the pest, agreed that need to fill up any potential entry points.
  17. Saw a woman walking around about a week ago with the census orange plastic vesty type thing on, in Whateley Road, probably the census people are possibly following up on un re-turned forms, or it has got lost during its return, or checking the data submitted?? Who knows but they're still around.
  18. bit of a trek from ED station too cox's walk even for a rat!!
  19. Two Police cars on blues outside Barclays bank on Lordship Lane - could have been the bank or one of the shops on that side nearby, hope all is well.
  20. Totally agree Taper Was referred to Kings in 11/20 by a GP at FHRGP. The GP had made a referral purely based on the numbers rather having considered the patient history. After six months of worry, it turns out the GP's referral was unnecessary. Had they done a bit of checking themselves or even bothered phoning the unit in Kings to discuss the figures and case history the referral would have been required. The GP has wasted both my and the hospitals time. Thanks FHRGP for the six moths of worry you caused through a mis diagnosis, it looks like he is no longer a GP at FHRGP. Phew!

It wasn't an off the shelf shed, it was built to fit a specific area in the garden
  22. Re: shed floor, on the concrete run some thin joists across and on top of that have a wooden floor laid. I had a remnant from Berts https://www.burts.co.uk/ which means I 'm not walking on a cold wood or concrete floor, it makes sweeping and cleaning it easy.
  23. I am saddened to hear of your experience at the practice, I'd hoped things had improved a tad, clearly similar issues remain which they clearly are unable to resolve. That being the case I cannot see how the standard of care can be considered to be good by the regulator CQC. Perhaps its worth making them aware of the issues you describe as well as Southwark CCG. The practice is supposed to put patients care first, sounds as though its anything but. As an aside why have they still not published the most recent patient group minutes. The last set a re a single A4 page of quite frankly garbage.
