Thanks the-e-dealer, that's useful to know. It really is very unclear as to what comes with some of these machines (eg, having boasted about all the functionality they offer you see the disclaimer USB/LAN cable available separately).
Thanks Dulwichfox. I've been looking at some of the HP models that have Wireless ePrint and AirPrint. However it's not clear whether they are also Google Cloud Print ready (which would be useful for gmail and cloud computing). It's also not clear whether they come with inks or whether they have to be purchased separately.
I've lost patience with my Kodak printer continually breaking down and would be grateful for advice for a new printer/scanner. Unfortunately an hour on the net has left my head spinning. All I need is a printer for documents (PowerPoint etc) and to scan and save documents. it doesn't need to be photographic quality. Presumably I need inkjet rather than laser. I would like wireless facility and also to be able to print from iPad and iPhone. Perhaps also to put a USB key in as well and print off/save file. I don't really want to spend more than ?150. Can someone please point me in the right direction - Dell, HP, Epson, Brother, Canon?
Hi Jennyh, This sounds exactly like a problem we had recently. We had to call a plumber when we got fed up of boiling a kettle to do the washing up. Turns out it was a small and inexpensive sensor that cost around ?15 plus Vat. However, overall cost of the plumber on call out and labour and the part ended up at ?160 (he did however service it at the same time). Great to be able to run a bath again though
This is a problem I have all the time. Sounds like a potential business opportunity for some bonded warehouse around ED. However, how much would people be prepared to pay? ?5 per day? But what if you're on holiday for a week - that may swallow any saving you've made on the internet. Still cheaper than taking a day off work though. What about small registered letters, would ?5 be too much? And multiple items, say two quilts and two pillows - what is an acceptable charge to store these items until you can pick them up after work?
Similar to richfish, Rat run through Bermondsey, Tower Hill, Aldgate, Old Street, Finsbury Park roundabout, Holloway Rd, North Circular, A1. Averages one hour every time. I've tried every other route and still think this is the best.
Hmmm, interesting one this. Multidisciplinary. I suppose the answer to your question is you can't measure uncertainty. To measure implies a known, or agreed, standard of measurement. Uncertainty, by definition, can't be quantified. Prima facie, the question is illogical. BUT, science tells us a cat can be both alive or dead at the same time depending on the observer and that an electron can be in two places at the same time. So the question isn't as daft as it first appears. However I'd advise your scientist to keep ministers out of the debate otherwise therein the road to madness lies
What absolute drivel! DJKillaQueen, while I admire your opinion-on-every-matter approach, you are in serious danger of looking like a complete and utter fool here. As a matter of urgency I advise you to plead with admin (on bended knees if necessary) to move this to the lounge where it is better suited as a jokey comment on the forthcoming visit. Where does one even start on your cut-n-paste argument above? 1. What survey? (the BBC one where 500 people were questioned?) 2. Who are these non-entities you quote? (The movement is spearheaded by Protest the Pope, a group with nearly 9,000 Facebook members)(Copson, who does not believe the Vatican should be recognised as a state) Are you really trying to make a serious point by quoting Facebook, and people who do not 'believe' a sovereign state is a sovereign state? I'll be very interested to see how many of the 9,000 Facebook members actually get out of bed (weather permitting) to march in London to protest (I'll wager 10).
In my opinion street crime and gang muggings are becoming out of hand. One day when i was about 15 i was stopped by a bunch of 5/6 obviously gym bound black teenagers. I am not trying to be racist when i say that from my experiences white boys are more of a target for black gangs. That day when i was stopped, i was lucky and had my 21 year old brother with me and if they had taken any money off me he would probably have... Excuse my language: beaten the shit out of them, but back to the point. From what i have seen in Peckham Park and very recently in Dulwich park, is that life seems to be becoming harsher for the youth of today to grow up, my son once told me that the reason he was going through a stage of being home bound was that he was scared a "big, overly hench black boy" would attempt to mug him. In your opinions that may seem racist but he has a point. Most gun and knife related violence and muggings involve Boys of an African ethnicity. In conclusion i reccomend that children and adults alike should keep their whits about them and if they see or hear anything suspicious to report it to the police not resort to buying a gun/knife and using it yourself
Well, i was one of the people helping the poor child out. He was carrying a homemade smoke bomb that day and it wasn't lighting when he put the lighter to it. He then put some petrol over the bomb. He was playing around with his lighter after that and then his bomb seemed to ignite in his pocket. The surrounding kids did nothing to help: some ran off, others just stared. I t must have been a hurrendous ordeal for the child but i have heard that he was put in a special burns unit outside London. On the first night he almost gave up hope and passed away, but he stayed with us and he is now recovering from his burns slowly but well. It was quite a shocking ordeal for me aswell, let alone the boy.
