Although perhaps not surprising when I think about it. If I'm honest abot it when it comes to music I do sort of live in the past.

I was actually listening to Copper Blue on the way to work this morning. Pixies lat night must have had some sort or early 90s subliminal effect on me. Bloody good album.

They weren?t like some old reformed acts I?ve seen where the band just go through the motions. They were fun and fresh and the songs had the same energy and life to them as they did coming out of my twin tape deck ghetto blaster in 1991. Frank Black has a voice and vocal range the size of the Grand Canyon, a shaky pan across the breadth of the Grand Canyon on black and white celluloid. You hear it on the CDs but it somehow comes alive when it?s live. As does the blistering riffage. You get a real sense of how influenced by punk* the guitar is. *That?s punk the genre of underground music spanning over 30 years not punk the flash in the pan fashion once peddled by Westwood and Mclaren.

Did I mention how fucking good Pixies were last night?

They were the support band. They didn?t play Wave of Mutilation, Debaser, Gouge Away, or any of the other songs Pixies did.

Bombay Bicycle Club were fucking terrible though.

Lacklustre my arse. They were fecking awesome. Awesome Awesome Awesome I don?t care how cool and cynical you are, even to *Bob*ish levels, you would have had to admit they were brilliant. Definite nostalgia act though. The memories of misspent youth came back in waves so much so that Debaser brought a tear to my eye.

I think I?m going to raise my children in London. In the countryside there won?t be enough people for my wife to ram off the pavement with the perambulator.

I just dug out an old Nokia from 2002 that was in the phone graveyard at the back of the dresser. The battery lasts a week and a half, I never pay more than ?9 a month and it?s retro innit. Snake is pretty fun to. Nobody ever fucking phones me though.
