  1. We had a party like that about 6 years ago. Tinnies and joints in the back yard with the TV in the window. I even turned the hose on everyone halfway through they day just to add that extra bit of authenticity.
  2. Take it to one of the workshops on Denmark Street. You may find someone willing to give it a go. I once snapped a Les Paul headstock clean in two and an enterprising Luthier in Jo?burg fixed it good as new.
  3. Who was the Cod War Confrontation fought against?
  4. Tumbler ok? The Count broke the last of the crystal absinthe glasses doing gin and liquorice water slammers last night.
  5. Let?s not get unnecessarily Bohophobic. Or hobophobic for that matter. Bonophobia is however acceptable.
  6. Often actual scientists are more open-minded about these things* than those who just ?believe? in science. *and their scientific basis and application of course.
  7. This is for all those of you who enjoy a good fight about science vs belief. http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg20227081.100-the-science-of-voodoo-when-mind-attacks-body.html?DCMP=NLC-nletter&nsref=mg20227081.100
  8. They are all there to extract your money. *Spelt correctly this time*
  9. Young people who may or may not hail from a Medieval European kingdom.
  10. wikipedia says this about it: "Bohemians are the people of Bohemia, in the Czech Republic, inhabitants of the former Kingdom of Bohemia, located in the modern day Czech Republic. The ancient Kingdom of Bohemia was absorbed into the Habsburg Empire after 1527 and came under the control of Vienna. The name "Bohemia" derives from the Latin term for the Celtic tribe inhabiting that area, the Boii, who were called Boiohaemum in the early Middle Ages. The word "Bohemians" was never used by the local Czech (Slavic) population. In Czech, the region since the early Middle Ages has been called only ?echy ("Bohemia") or Kr?lovstv? ?esk? ("Kingdom of Bohemia"), and its mainly Czech-speaking inhabitants were called ?echov? (in modern Czech ?e?i)."
  11. From what I know, Bohemian initially referred to something/one from Bohemia which was in Eastern Europe somewhere. At some stage in history a large amount of Bohemian people (for some or other reason I?m not sure of) became gypsies of sorts. They spread into France where the term Bohemian became used to describe someone who lived an alternative lifestyle. So maybe it is a bar for East Dulwich?s Eastern European community.
  12. To be fair it wasn?t always that simple. A lot of the wars during the colonial era were over colonies/trading ports that had developed and operated peacefully but then came under threat from other interests, local, colonial or corporate. Others however were a blatant grab for power and/or recourses.
  13. It is French isn't it? Sort of. Bloody kids. Honestly I don't know what's happening to this generation. Chromified bars and hair product. What ever happened to thrash metal and joints in the park?
  14. Racist!
  15. What about the ethical responsibility she would have been breaching by not exposing things? I would think a medical professional?s loyalties lie with their patients first and the trappings of the profession second.

Personally I would argue that bar the 2 world wars (and there are arguments even there) most of the wars Britian has been involved in over the last 200 years have been part of some form of conquest and therefore far from "just". Perhaps seen as acceptable by people of the day but not "just" by today's standards.
  17. Once every 25 years or so.
  18. That's not you is it dear?
  19. There?s a difference between gratuitous dreadlock wearing, spouting socialist slogans in order to fit in and blatantly dangerous and illegal behaviour like violence against police officers. There are just so many angles of ?wrong? there I don?t even know where to start.
  20. Pubs like houses need to have the carpets, curtains, painting etc. done once every so many years.
  21. There is truth in your sarcasm sir but it is not for us to sully those with that with which others have fouled themselves.
  22. Anyone else think this was about a bobby going men?al.
  23. Okay if you say so. Well I for one think it's a disgrace, opening new "bars" willy-nilly. Back in my day it was a proper pub that had been open since the 14th century or a kick in the teeth. And rightly so. It?ll be all coke fiends and flocking wallpaper. You mark my words. Hell, hand basket, gone!
