  1. I have watched a few Irish rugby games at the Castle. I may even pop in for Ireland ? Italy tomorrow. Or maybe 1st half Castle 2nd half CPT.
  2. PE, the Garden Route and Cape Town are on the tourist trail anyway. Just be vigilant like you would anywhere on holiday. People might try to nick your camera or rip you off for trips etc. Just like anywhere else.
  3. 5 years ago. 10 years ago. Doesn't make much difference CWALD. I grew up with the reality of people I know being raped, robbed and murdered. As did my father and my grandfather and his father, back until when they first stepped off the boat to set up a refueling station for ships back in the 1600s. 10 years of nepotism, non-delivery of services, corruption and just general short sighted incompetence haven?t made it any better though. Having said that, Eric don?t worry. It is not some kind of warzone. Just be savvy and take advice from the locals about where to run etc. Don?t stop for breakdowns. It is fine to go out at night just keep your eyes open. Don?t drive around the city centre with your window down, door open, phone/watch on display etc. Out of town you are normally safe. Just don?t be stupid is all.

To a point CWALD but I have too many dead friends and realtives to agree with you completely. Bit busy today but will put some stuff together for you over the weekend Eric.
  5. As has been said already, in general the Palmeston isn?t really a pub but a restaurant. However if you are on that part of Lordship Lane after dinner time on a weekend night and want somewhere to have a few drinks until 12:30pm and don?t fancy, loud crap music, bouncers and dickheads (ie the Bishop or EDT) It does very well as a pub. And has good beers. I have spent quite a few enjoyable drink ups in there.
  6. Or change it a bit. Forget the trumpet and bring in Mark Knopfler on guitar and Chris Rea on vocals.
  7. Oh I didn't see that. Well that ruins the entire dynamic. I shall have to apply further thought to the issue.
  8. Exactly which wall is going to be used "Come the revolution" ? It?s just that I have just had mine painted.
  9. All girl band hmm? here goes: Vince Neil - Vocals Nuno Bettencourt ? Guitar Billy Sheehan ? Bass Alex van Halen - Drums
  10. You?re realise you have nothing left to achieve, fall into a fit of depression and drug abuse get found blue, bloated and dead on the toilet. I wish I had an unlimited amount of wishes
  11. You have to hang out with Pete Doherty. I wish I could travel through time.
  12. To many egos and conflicting ideas Mockney. It would be a good barney though.
  13. I?m not sure. :-S I pondered a guitar and some drums but Flea is pretty much a one man rhythm section and the simplicity will hopefully not dilute the purity of the other two.
  14. ?In 78 years I have seen amazing human progress but no change to human happiness.? - Me dad to me, over a beer, at his last birthday party.
  15. Now guys, Louisa does have a fair point. We all know deep down that wanting to live in a place where the streets aren?t paved in dog shit and the pubs aren?t violent dives with cracked windows is not society trying to better itself but rather a contrived plot to persecute her.
  16. Tori Amos ? Vocals and Piano Louis Armstrong - Vocals and Trumpet Flea ? Bass (Adding anyone else to the mix would ruin it)
  17. I just get in and say "East Dulwich please." Never been turned down.
  18. Sublime http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sublime_%28band%29 Slightly handicapped by the fact that the lead singer died 12 years ago. Their self-titled and last album is one of the top 5 albums of the 90s
  19. I am sure the current paint and the tables were new once.
  20. The 484 The 484 I got my bag stuck in the door The driver braked and I fell down Like fabled Jack wot broke his crown The 484 At 6pm As I fell a grabbed a hem And a lady screamed a scream As she was stripped of Crimplene The 484 At 6 ? O ? 5 Left me bruised but still alive On the pavement in the rain I cannot take that bus again
  21. Yeah maybe a simple kitchen. 1 grill and a fryer. 2-3 menu items. If it could be fit in.
