  1. Most places have been done in some way or another except the Herne so my vote is with the Herne. I was officially excused from the last drinks on account of being on honeymoon. My wife will write me a note if necessary.
  2. The Africa one is more difficult. Especialy since in SA you tend to treat everything north of Zambia as another continent. 126
  3. Not that I want to reinforce any stereotypes of South Africans being arrogant know-it-alls but. Err hermm. 40.
  4. I would also suggest the Herne. In fact I think I suggested it for the last drinks too.
  5. I am inclined to think that society is responsible for breeding youth offenders and therefore responsible for dealing with them. You can?t just sweep them under the carpet on some council estate somewhere. The fact that they are a significant social problem can be put down to british society being blinkered and limp-wristed. This ethos is often spawned and perpetuated in the molly-coddled comfort of middle class suburbia so it is perhaps fitting that some of its consequences should make themselves evident here. By the way, can I still post on here after I move to Kent?
  6. I am finding it really difficult to care when there are actually real issues about britain?s current wars that should be making headlines.
  7. Next time this happens to someone. Say that you will be right back. Close the door, go and get your camera. Leave it about 2-5 minutes. Then open the door, quickly take a snap of them and then slam it in their face.
  8. I would say Tandoori Nights is an Indian Restaurant wile the others are Curry Houses. Incidentally I had a very good take out from Coriander on Saturday. Does Ganapati deliver and if so why isn?t there one of their menus in the plastic folder in the second drawer of the dresser in the hallway?
  9. In a word Mockney, Fantastic! Lovely weather, good food, good beer, great wine, friendly down to earth people, unparalleled scenery and wildlife and somewhere in the midst of all that we got married went on honeymoon and had the best time of our lives. On the flip side failing infrastructure, pointless social and economic decline and frustrating politics. But I tried to ignore that on this particular trip. Didn?t touch a computer or watch a television in 3 weeks! But now it is back to the old Westminster salt mines.
  10. I have a lot of these little white stamps that I will gladly swap for a specific kind of blue stamp. After each transaction, as is gentlemanly, I will offer you a beer. (A pint of Guinness or Red Stripe served nice and cold) You are welcome to sit in my dinning room or on the patio to drink it. You are also welcome to smoke and put whatever music you would like on or watch whatever you would like on the telly. The blue (and white if you want them) stamps are purely decorative items available via a completely unrelated e-mail order service in sheets of 20 or more at a cost of ?1.80 a stamp.
  11. Remind me why I do this again.
  12. Good forum but that?s about it.
  13. Really?!?! It must have been the scottie in her. Nasty little buggers. Great big pointy teeth.
  14. I love dogs but I think the Pit Bull breed should be discontinued. I am not suggesting that dogs be put down but sterilisation, a ban on further sales and an iron fisted, zero tolerance crackdown on dog fighting should do it. (default death sentences for the people involved in dog fighting and financial bonuses for arresting officers) If someone desperately needs a penis extension and cant afford a Land Rover Sport they can get a staffie, bull terrier or bull mastiff. All of which are less likely than a Pit Bull to end up dangerous.
  15. I was there on Saturday and it was just as busy as it has always been.
  16. Nice dog. He looks like he may have bull mastiff somewhere in his ancestry. The point that dogs are as good or bad as their owners only holds up to a certain point. The fact of the matter is that some breeds are more prone to aggression than other or just stronger and therefore more difficult to control. Then you put the irresponsible owner who buys their dog for the image into the mix and the probability of problem dogs is raised. You can liken it to a gun. I know that I know how to and I am responsible enough to look after, maintain and responsibly use a gun and if I had one it wouldn?t in any way be a danger to society. But does that mean that every palooka in London should have one? Sometimes it is just better to ban things outright for everyone.
  17. I don?t like them much either. Although I will acknowledge that if properly trained and looked after they can be good pets. The problem is that the risk of them going bad is too high. Especialy since the type of people who feel the need to have a ?hard? dog are often a bit pathological and therefore not fit to look after a potentially dangerous animal. My old next-door neighbour used to have two pit bulls and even though she really tried with them she just couldn?t assert her dominance as head of the pack. One bit her finger off one day when she was trying to feed it. I feel very differently about staffies though.
  18. Run away! Run away!
  19. Michael Palaeologus Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Who was that perpetually drunken Canadian that > used to hang out there? FloatingOnion gets upset when people mistake him for a Canadian.
  20. Moxons / Moxtons ? Whatever it is called: :-S Fucking hate fish me. Oh and The Sea Cow for the same reason. I have been into Emily?s though, for chips as a least it doesn?t smell like fish. ?smells like grease instead.
  21. How would we classify 'Criminal class' as it has to incorporate local MPs, a large amount of people who work in the upper echelons of financial management, a few fraudulent professionals, most of the estate agents, all the students, petty thieves, heroine addicts, any council tenants who fraudulently claim benefits, not so petty thieves and Michael Palaeologus for public lewdness in the Quiet Room.
  22. Oh Christ, don?t blame the estate. You?ll turn this into a class issue too. I lose signal completely every time the ?effing No40 bus drives past.
  23. Yes. I have lived at 2 different addresses in that area and reception was terrible in both. Tried all different types of aerials too. The only solution I have found it to get cable.
  24. Open-plan kitchen/living area. Bedsit.
