  1. For some reason a lot of it depends on age. They earn their coolness with age. The BMW E30 convertible http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Ch4.jpg is a prime example of a car that was the quintessential flash yuppie-mobile but has evolved before our eyes into a cool classic.
  2. The fun in driving them! You always feel like you're going faster with the top down. Also feeling the sun on a hot day. The British weather is unfortunately not ideally suited for them. This is peculiar as there seem to be comparatively very many of them in Britain.
  3. Can I go now? My tolerance for contrived corporate bllsht is close to breaking point. I may not make it tonight as I will have been dragged off to the loony bin for inflicting grievous bodily with a laptop and a pack of postit notes.
  4. B)Oh I was a sixer by the way.
  5. Ok we definitely didn?t have to swear allegiance to the queen. We did have to ?do our duty to god? Whatever that means. It was all a bit confusing and for a while I thought that The Jungle Book was a religious writing along side the Bible.
  6. I thought the Scouts was non-denominational? A Jewish friend of mine was in Cubs with me. That was in SA though so maybe we weren?t as traditional or something.
  7. I think the important issue here is the impact these churches have on our local economy by keeping people out of the pubs in Sundays.
  8. Other famous moustaches: Mussolini, Hitler, Stalin, Hussein. I hate that f*king picture of Kitchener?s mug. The man was responsible for the genocide of my people. My grandmother survived one of his death camps but lost 2 sisters. Thing is they have started using that picture where I work in the ?All Staff? e-mails in some lame attempt to get staff ?involved?. Just makes my blood boil and I can?t say anything because the senior management of the institution I work for is populated exclusively with ex-military.
  9. I think you have now exhausted your statistical likelihood of ever getting a Guns n Roses question in a pub quiz again Keef.
  10. What about Monday - Gowlett Wednesday - CPT I make it Sunday - Magdala Monday - Gowlett Tuesday - George Canning Wednesday - CPT Thursday - Plough and Hoopers
  11. Jah Lush Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- no shrieking vocals, or heavy bass > or slashing guitars, WHAT? Ridiculous! It will never catch on!
  12. I?m gutted that this ?future? we live in isn?t all glass domes, jetpacks and holidays on the moon. The only thing that makes 2007 different to 1977 is that now we all have walkie-talkies and the internet (and we all know what that is mainly used for)
  13. I'll have a word.
  14. (tu)
  15. I think you can probably go to one in the area every night of the week.
  16. Luckily for me the Rand/Pound exchange rate is about 14 to 1 at the moment and I?m getting married in South Africa.
  17. With the threat of Foxtons closing in Osbourne Stewart seem to be moving with the times and diversifying by starting up an internet caf?.
  18. Well the best way I have found to get there so far is: Go to my sister?s gaf in Teddington the day before on the pretence of staying over and getting the bus there the next day. I tell her what a great sis she is, letting me stay on the sofa before a long-haul flight with all my luggage and everything. She starts to feel guilty about me getting the bus the next day and ends up giving me a lift in the car. Result. >:D
  19. Bit of a wildcard here but it has worked for me in the past. 185 to Vauxhaul - Train to Teddington - Bus from Teddington High Street to Heathrow. In general it is a bugger getting to anywhere in SW london that's why they have different accent an' all.
  20. Yes well I suppose if you want to look at it ?literally? then ?technically? speaking there are other pubs in the SE22 area. ?Technically? that is. ;-)
  21. Why don?t we just alleviate all the unfair pressure we put on the great people of our government and pay all the providers of public services ourselves? That way they can be free to use our taxes to line their pockets and warmonger around the world. These people have enough stress as it is without the pesky population nagging about having things like ?adequate, clean, environments? to give birth, ?access to decent housing? and ?safe environments? in which to live. So dig into your pockets people and let us take the pressure off. And remember when their soldiers come back from doing their bidding we must support them too.
  22. About 9pm. http://www.cptquiz.co.uk/
  23. Blimey me too! ::o
  24. All your thoughts on this echo mine so closely I?m getting depressed. Right what to do next? Do some writing, perhaps even for work? Browse the Guardian Jobs website? Check the EDF? Sit here and daydream about beer and cigarettes? Do all that boring administration I?ve been putting off for weeks? I?ll think about it on a trip to the coffee machine. Mochachino anyone?
  25. There is a big one and a small one. You can see from pretty much any position in the bar. Except in the Lounge bar as there is no TV in there.
