  1. Where?s your sense of fun Alan? Rent a morning suit, get some ribbons on the old escort, head down the registry office and then rent a pub out for a knees-up with balloons and scotch eggs. Shouldn?t cost you more than a few hundred quid. Then head to Butlin?s for a family honeymoon.
  2. Anyone Can Play Guitar is one of my favorite songs ever and Creep is a classic but everything after Pablo Honey (that is what that album is called isn?t it?) is rubbish IMOO (in my opinionated opinion) I think Jah said it best; ?I blame them for other boring, dull, tedious miserablist shite like Coldplay. Bastards! Music for bed wetting students as someone else once said.?
  3. Making your decision on choice of dining establishment based on the quality of the serviettes is so pass?. Discerning eaters these days know that it is the stitching in the hems of the tablecloths that really matters. This is perhaps why they have decided to cut cost on serviettes. I would have a look at their table cloths if I were you.
  4. Even if they are funded completely by TFL they are still funded by a combination of our taxes and our fare money. Therefore as a tax payer and paying customer (which are one in the same thing in my book) I want to see them on the train late at night cracking miscreant?s skulls and not standing around in florescent vest making me miss my train on Tuesday mornings! (6) I?m trying to quit smoking by the way. Does it show?
  5. They have a very big screen in the room on the far right (if you are facing the bar from the door) and another TV just to the right of the bar. I don?t think they had a screen on the other side of the bar last Saturday. It was absolutely rammed on Saturday as it is the only place on that lower end of LL that shows the rugby. I watched the first half there and went to the CPT for the second which was much more congenial.
  6. Firstly let me say that one of my best friends is a copper and my little jibe about them ?working for us? would not leave him, or any other coppers, best pleased. It is probably a bit unfair. I just have an inbred genetic problem with authority. I do believe that they have to make sure people pay for transport but it is about the allocation of resources. 1000 car windows smashed around London. Replacement cost ?100 p/w. Expenses ?100 000 to the hard working public. * Whose money is more important, ours or the transport baron?s? *Numbers also picked from the air.
  7. Sorry to hear that MP. Luckily it is controllable with exercise and diet. My brother was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in his early 20s and just by scheduling in regular exercise he has managed to not let it be of any detriment to his normal lifestyle. As for getting old, my back is completely effed in two places and I have RSI in both my arms. It is from doing a desk job. I?ve only been working behind a desk for 5 years. I?m considering changing careers to something that doesn?t leave me in constant pain because another 40 years of this and I wont be able to walk. I?ve found a few grey hairs but not that worried about them. I reckon they will make me look distinguished. My hangovers also tend to be worse but I think I probably drink more on a night out now because I have (a) a higher tolerance and (b) a bit more money so it is more difficult for my body to get rid of it all.
  8. Sorry why do they need at least 7 coppers standing at the station in the morning checking for fare dodgers or 5 of them writing out a fine when they can?t do anything about people?s private property being vandalised because they don?t? have the resources? They fking work for us don?t they?
  9. Sorry Tillie that should have read Doug. I'm having a problem with my spilling today.
  10. Anyone want to join me in building a wicker man on peckham rye? Perhaps accompanied with a bit of recreational dug use and causal pagan deity invoking. I do feel sorry for the cats and dogs this time of year with all the bangers going off.
  11. Loz Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- Why are > the police not tackling crime in general, rather > than allocating time exclusively to ensure that a > private company gets it's dosh? To ensure a private company doesn?t go completely bust and leave the government with more egg on its face over mismanaged privatisation. Essentially sending henchmen around to collect taxes.
  12. Hmm... nom de canap?s? I don?t smoke roll-mops but I recently bought a wonderful enamel inlaid Victorian caviar pipe from an antique shop on ?the lane?. When you say Penge DM you are of course pronouncing it - paan - ch?
  13. Come to think of it. Surely nom de plume is not the correct term for your name on an internet forum? (I know I was the one to bring it up) I think nom de clavier would be more fitting. (or is my french completely off there?) Well the correct term is Handle or Username but this is East Dulwich and we wouldn?t want to offend Dulwichmum with plebeian language now would we.
  14. My initial reaction would be. Oh sht will this be a problem. Then my common sense would kick in and I would make a conscious effort not to let it influence my judgment. I would probably end up trying so hard not to let it influence me that I would make some kind of Freudian slip in the interview. Although it depends on their crime to be honest. If it was rape or child abuse I wouldn?t give them the time of day unless it was to run them over with my car but I suppose I could tolerate drugs charges or a bit of robbery.
  15. I really don?t have a problem posting as myself as I tend to say just as much stupid sht when I speak to people in person as I do online.
  16. :-$ I'll get my coat
  17. As long as they don't start going on, an' on....
  18. :-$ busted
  19. Funny way of spelling Simon
  20. Ever fancied moving to the Caribbean and becoming a fisherman? http://www.guardian.co.uk/international/story/0,,2186573,00.html
  21. Perhaps they do want to be famous, nothing wrong with that. Perhaps they don?t, nothing wrong with that either. Perhaps they just want to put their thoughts down and see if anyone is interested. Personally I would love to be well known for my writing. It is not one of the major motivators in my life but it would be nice.
  22. Second guess would be quite simply that they don't feel the need to hide behind a nom de plume when putting their thoughts up on the internet
  23. So don't read them then.
  24. My first guess would be that as none of them are prone to insulting insinuations so they don?t feel the need to hide behind a nom de plume when putting their thoughts up on the internet.
  25. Sean I find if I use the terms satchel or laptop bag it stops people laughing. Oh and word of advice mate. Don?t mention the little umbrella.
