  1. do people no longer grow up with honest parents to explain this? they have to rely on a sign?
  2. Thanks BB, found it!
  3. Hi does anyone know where the rail replacement buses stop for east dulwich Station going to London Bridge please? Many thanks
  4. My guess on that is that it's a desperate attempt to reduce vehicular access to Croxted Rd to counter the TfL report
  5. It must also be a massive distraction for them to spend so much energy fighting over this pathetic cause. I worry that some serious business might have slipped down a crack whilst they were arguing the toss over this report.
  6. If someone in my organisation went around making it known they "wanted blood" they would be pulled aside and put on a training programme to learn to respect others. If it came about as a second offence shortly after they'd been called out for intimidating others to the point they were reduced to tears, then the bully would be ejected without notice. It's toxic behavior that just would not be tolerated in our (high pressure, high performing) environment. We deserve a lot better than this. These people are supposed to be public servants. Addressing other public and civil servants in a way that evokes this kind of language in a format that ends up on public record is absolutely appalling and should not be tolerated.
  7. This was in October 2022 too. Doesn't that post date the intervention by the TfL cycling Tszar who had to tell them to dial down the bullying?
  8. I'd be interested to know if the developers can even afford to build this stadium and the flats now. House prices are slowing down, mortgage and bank loan rates are rocketing and the costs of materials and labour are stratospheric. Seems very unlikely to me that the original plans are still plausible at the profit levels anticipated.
  9. Let's hope not!!!
  10. Poundland is not Bourgeois. It's owned by Steinhoff International Holdings N.V., a Dutch company that is listed on the Frankfurt and Johannesburg stock exchanges. Steinhoff has annual revenues of about 10 billion pounds You can't really compare that to a company that runs a handful of bakeries.
  11. Hello James, just following up on my query from September. Do you happen to know whether Southwark Council engages the services of J Devine Civil Engineering (or Devine Group Civil Engineering) at all please? Many thanks
  12. If it's missing 5% of traffic but the LTN is hailed as a success because of a 2% reduction then it is a hug problem. A 60% overestimate of the impact of the LTN
  13. These people are unbelievable. Imagine being so utterly shameless and entitled as this.
  14. Tell me, how do you make such surplusses without implementing a money-printing CPZ scheme? You can't put in a parking meter in uncontrolled parking zones and epxect people to pay. You can't fine people for parking in a street with no parking restrictions. The only way the council can make the huge amounts of profit they do from on-street machines and parking fines is to put in a CPZ.
  15. CPZs too. They make huge amounts of money from those.
  16. Reminder that the monitoring data doesn't cover roads like mine that are now used as so-called rat runs to avoid Lordship Lane and have approximately 300% more traffic and congestion since the LTNs went in.
  17. Taking action to reduce car use is a definitely a good thing. These measures have no impact on car use and simply generate more congestion and more pollution. Can you look beyond inconveniencing car owners and your dislike of East Dulwich?
  18. There isn't really a major issue with parking now tbh. There is still plenty of space to park in the non-CPZ areas even with people from streets that voted for a CPZ now parking there too. Occasionally you might have to park somewhere slightly less convenient but there is always enough space still. This is why 68% of residents voted against the CPZs in the first place.
  19. I wonder if it's better not to object at this point. Presumably the only logic to closing Turney Road is to try to decrease traffic on Croxted Road. That traffic will have to go elsewhere and it is likely to be Half Moon lane, Dulwich Village and the South circular. Let's see what TFL have to say about the LTN's when teh South Circular is clogged up all day long. Closing yet another road to disperse traffic from somewhere else might be the final nail in the coffin of this hair-brained game of whack-a-mole.
  20. Agreed, and it was widely trumpeted after the council elections last year that the residents voted for the LTNs and other anti car ownership measures, especially round here.
  21. Also haven't the council started imposing conditions on new housing developments that ban residents from owning cars by barring them from appyling for parking permits?
  22. My council tax went up by nearly 7% this year. That might not be much money for you but for a lot of people it is way above the rate their pay is going up. And now the council are looking for new ways to charge more and increase the cost of living crisis for their residents.
  23. the problem with the current operating hours is that visitors can avoid those and park in the non CPZ streets nearby while waiting for the timing to end. Especially now that people are at home more. So if they extend the hours that puts more pressure on parking in the areas off East Dulwich that also rejected the CPZ and which did not get one. More pressure on parking means more clamour for a CPZ. Which means more money in the council's pocket and less in yours. Remember this council has admitted many times that it wants a CPZ throughout the whole of Southwark. They want to eliminate private car ownership altogether and double yellow lines and CPZ implementation are the most efficient way for them to achieve that.
  24. They could have paramedics delivering patients to A and E on electric cargo bike instead of an ambulance. Why not.
