  1. "...we plan to put in place more local parking zones to cover the whole borough over the coming year. Your area does not currently have a permit system, so we are launching a consultation to ask you how we can make this work..." They aren't asking if they should do it, they are doing it and this consultation is a joke.
  2. The way that consultation is worded shows that the CPZ is a done deal. That's why there is no option to object to the CPZ . It's a consultation on how the CPZ will be implemented, not on whether it should be. It also seems that they are implementing these in Dulwich Village and Dulwich Hill, but not Goose Green. Presumably that's so that local councillors can pretend they've not broken any promises.
  3. Still no and getting more sceptical.
  4. The gullible muppets who voted Labour can't say they weren't warned about this.
  5. That video is shocking. It makes me wonder if she stole anything else from inside that shop. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12255731/amp/Moment-university-academic-tears-anti-LTN-petition-poster-shop-near-south-London-home.html
  6. When are the council going to start clearing all the other obstructions off the pavements like peoples bins, overgrown hedges, fly tipped rubbish, litter, broken glass and all the dog shit everywhere. These bikes are a nuisance, sure, but they also have some utility, unlike all the other detritus the council seem quite happy to ignore.
  7. Is it the Labour Council or the Labour mayor you are calling a halfwit? The South Circular is a TFL road and I think Croxted Road is governed by Southwark council.
  8. Looks very nice indeed. Cant wait to try this.
  9. Our local councillors don't seem to engage with anyone locally at all any more on any forum. They've given up here, their newsletter hasn't been updated for many months, you never see them in the area and it makes me wonder they actually do for us at all. I wish we still had James Barber looking out for us tbh
  10. Looks the fee for renting out your own home is actually £900, not 600
  11. Maybe it's because of this. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12111087/amp/Sadiq-Khan-admits-low-traffic-neighbourhoods-arent-perfect-need-REMOVING-London.html There's a photo of Melbourne Grove in the rogue's gallery. Hopefully they'll row back on some of the local ones here although I think the councillors are to proud to ever admit a mistake round here. This is shameful, and presumably includes the roads in East Dulwich: "The Times reported it had asked DfT to supply evidence that LTNs reduced distance driven but it could not provide any."
  12. So will they keep both shops or will something replace the flower shop? And what will go in Frogley Rd?
  13. No thanks
  14. Yeah they should ban all the people and kids and all their dogs too, as well as cars from the area. We don't want that here. Buses and bus-passers-through only from now on.
  15. This thread should be in the bin section of the Lounge. It stopped being funny a long time ago.
  16. Deleted - Wrong thread
  17. Did anything happen here?
  18. These are excuses, not reasons. Put the unmanipulated raw data up and let people figure it out for themselves.
  19. The second dirtiest trick the Council played in the ED consultation was to ask something like "If your street voted against a CPZ but the neighbouring roads had a CPZ put in, would you then like a CPZ in your road?" Answering yes to that question is treated as "Yes I'd like a CPZ in any circumstance". You have to say no to that question and hold the line!
  20. There's no reason why they shouldn't publish all their data all the time. That way people could see how truly congested all our roads and that would actually prompt people to use more active travel measures. If the private school parents got a li e daily picture of how much pollution they were generating every day right next to their children's classrooms it might shock them into changing their behaviour
  21. Mr Chicken, have you considered changing your name to Mr Sealion? It would suit you better.
  22. Another great successful effort by the cuclists to have a car discussion lounged. Well done .
  23. According to the council accounts Highways and parking reserves (cash held in the bank by the council) increased from 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022 by £5,846,000 from £1,852,000. That means that this time last year they were sitting on £7,698,000 of our money. But it seems that just isn't enough money for them and now they are taking more from you if need to use your own car. 24. "Roads are paid for by council tax" Not round here. Sputhwark make so much profit from taxing motorists that they actually struggle to keep up with the income. There is a huge surplus for roads.
