  1. Oh I must have missed those. Have only been here for 12 years though.
  2. Crystal Palace Road is a major through route so doubt permission would be granted tbh. We've never had a street party before.
  3. Just not true Jules. The Mayor of London was given a direct mandate for policing in London in 2011, as part of the Police and Social Responsibility Act. As such, the Mayor is responsible for setting the strategic direction of policing in London through the Police and Crime Plan. If there are any problems with policing in London then they rest entirely at the Mayor's doorstep. It's one of the only things he does actually have responsibility for (the other being TfL - another gopping failure).
  4. Would be great fun if there were parties all over the neighbourhood on 7 May for the King's coronation. Is your road organising a street party for the King's coronation?
  5. It is the Mayor of London who is in charge of policing in London. He's not a Tory. But he has just put up your council tax by a whopping amount.
  6. It's also partly because it's being imposed on people who live far away from London who didn't vote for Sadiq Khan as their mayor and who have even worse access to tfl services than we do here in so-called "Zone 2".
  7. Spartacus, that was a Mayor of London decision, not TfL.
  8. This confirms that LTNs are a purely left wing ideological imposition that is intrinsically authoritarian. Lots of proponents have argued against that idea (pretending there is some green benfit, mostly) but you have showed your hand here with this outburst.
  9. Did she observe this protocol when she got involved with Dulwich Hamlet FC which is nowhere near her constituency?
  10. The art gallery and cafe in the car park will be far less attractive with thisbuiliding taking up the view. Expect they will close down and then the car park too will be turned into a luxury tower block. And just lol at the idea that Berkely Himes are going to help poor or young people.
  11. It's as bad as the nimbies on Melbourne Grove that complained about people parking their cars in "their" spaces whilst they were off doing the school run and parking outside someone else's house.
  12. You're complaining about other people driving cars stopping you from driving your own car?
  13. I believe these kind of cameras can also raise revenue for ULEZ all day long
  14. The councillors themselves will very rarely have any skills that are suited to actually implementing the policies they dream up, unfortunately. You need to rely on the people with actual qualifications that are relevant to the task in hand who work in Tooley Street for accountability. What qualifications do any of the ED councillors have to devise a long term traffic management strategy? I would guess they have none whatsoever between any of them. They must rely on advice from council employees.
  15. Poundland might well survive there. Sounds like a death knell for the CooP to me though. Maybe Waitrose will fill that void.
  16. Yes the Nimbys of Dulwich Village had it removed as an eyesore.
  17. Maybe not for you but they have lots of demand for swimming classes from very young children and from elderly people, for whom cold water is more dangerous.
  18. Shows nothing of the sort, letford: "traffic flow at the boundaries increased by 1.3%"
  19. Evangelical cyclists with no friends and no social awareness do far more to put people off cycling than cars do.
  20. The council make money back on collecting the trees by composting them or not having to buy wood chips. It's profitable for them to take them hence no charge.
  21. No doubt all of this sort of thing will stop this year as a result of the Labour Mayor's 10% tax hikes.
  22. It's been more than two years since this debacle started though Ex Dulwicher. I'm not sure why people like you and Malumbu who dont even live here are still so invested in pretending this has been successful though. (if we just wait a bit longer)
  23. The High Street in Forest Hill is also known as the South Circular. East Dulwich is a great place to live with a young family. You and your kids will make lots of very good supportive friends here.
  24. Good find Rockets. What a damning indictment that is of traffic management across London. "[for] the second year in a row, [London] topped the Traffic Scorecard with drivers losing 156 hours sitting in congestion, five percent above pre-pandemic delays. "
  25. To say that mothers are in need of special access more than say fathers, or non binary parents, woukd be is also incredibly insulting and discriminatory against women who have had children.
