  1. Ghetto Defendandt - The Clash. Alan Ginsberg rapping!
  2. Too much sun, TLS. Relax, wipe the rabid flecks from your parched, cracked lips and reflect! I just wish the progressive proletarian forces of the 70s and 80s had had a true defender of their class interests, like the ruling class possessed in dear, darling Margaret. National assets sold off, using the revenue for North Sea oil and gas to fund ever-expanding dole queues, war over the Malvinas ( the wonderful, heroic episode of the Belgrano! ), intransigence over the political status of Irish Nationalist and Unionist prisoners of war - more bombings on the streets of London; hunger strikers; increasing electoral appeal of Sinn Fein, Cabinets groaning under the weight of aristocrats, multi-millionaires, criminal elements and psychos, Toxteth, Handsworth, Brixton up in flames. Brave, happy times. Maggie got it sorted!
  3. Backed Britain all the way she did. Did us proud during the Westland affair! Great days they were; rolling back the human rights of millions of trade unionists - the right to strike, solidarity strikes - destruction of all those mining communities, beefing up the salaries of the police and the army, intensification of the war in the six counties ( leading to greater mainland bombing campaigns by the Republicans against us! ), destruction of the collective, co-operative spirit that had held since before WWII - "They're casting their problem on society. And, you know, there is no such thing as society. There are individual men and women, and there are families." Oh, and of course who can forget the great success of the Poll Tax? Social unrest, mass unemployment (deliberately engineered); halcyon days, what a legacy, what a Lady....
  4. Saw K.L's new film this week, 'Looking for Eric'. Usual Loach elements: grimy depiction of contemporary working-class (Salford) life, familiar cast of characters and 'types', solidaristic sentiments of communities in struggle, etc. But funny, seriously funny; with the footballing world's own, true philosopher-king, Cantona! Should be screening all over London; if you see only one film this year, blah, blah, blah....

    a joke

This I like! More thought-provoking than rib-tickling; could it work on a global level?
  6. I wish, Squids! Just another wage-slave trying to make sense of this skewed, corrupt, unjust system.
  7. Whilst not being a Blairite, Brownite or a 'traditional' Labour voter or supporter - I have no love for the activities of this 'deformed' workers' party, which even out-toryed the Tories in its pandering to the interests of the bosses, vis-a-vis privatisation and futile foreign, military adventures - even I understand this "appalling financial hole" is actually a crisis of Capital and not a result of mis-management on a local, UK level. And, yes, a large section of the proletariat have always voted for the representatives of their class enemies, but what does that prove other than: The ideas of the ruling class are in every epoch the ruling ideas, i.e., the class which is the ruling material force of society, is at the same time its ruling intellectual force. Karl Marx
  8. Exit. Head bowed low in shame, how could I have written such a thing? Time to leave the room. Adieu.
  9. I will contact him on this one; his responses, unlike yours, TLS, are normally clear, concise and rational. I couldn't possibly respond to this alleged "wrecking" and destruction of working class communities through station closures. It's obviously something that had a deep effect on you and your elephantine memory, leading to hateful thoughts and murderous images of pain and torture for the alleged perpetrator. Therapy time for you, me ol' TLS! The sun is shining, have a nice day.
  10. Tony Benn, mild-mannered democratic socialist, champion of just, working-class causes; are you feeling alright, TLS?
  11. Marmora Man, sei un buffone, vero e proprio!
