Sorry I forgot to say what I needed to do - there is a door to a room upstairs in my house that sometimes opens but other times won't budge - I presume the wood must be swelling or something. What should I do?

I would advise investing in a decent chippy to come over and make you a new frame. It could also be that the floor underneath has shifted which will of course cause the frame and consequently door to not sit correctly.

I was thinking to get a new one from B&Q to replace the old Victorian one - should I do that? Will it affect the house value?

I replaced the old pine Victorian 4-panel door with a white B&Q door, but it still seems to be getting stuck intermittently - do I need to do something with the frame or the surrounding architrave? My wife says I shouldn't worry about it.

Is it the bathroom door that's getting stuck? Does it occur when your builder has popped back to realign the plumbing for your wife or when she needs a good plunging to make sure there aren't any blockages hindering passage of fluids ?

It may well be that you are banging against the wrong cause and you should just move out, become a lumberjack or something and let your wife have her bath time pleasure once the plumber has sorted out things to her satisfaction 😅
