The selection criteria is too broad, if you don't mind me saying. Could we not create categories and sub-categories? If so, I would like to nominate myself for the 'Best 13 Stone 6 Feet Tall Middle-aged non-Londoner with a Dodgy Right Knee in East Dulwich' category. Photo to follow.

Well I'm very pleased he liked it. I had it again but added some chopped grilled tomato too.... it was bostin!

So, 3 votes so far. Kel is clearly desperate to find an alternative!

Bostin indeed. I scattered mine with a few thin slices of home grown chillies...double-bostin!

Well what with my visits to see my Bank Manager and Accountant, and of course reading the Financial Times, and catching up with my old work mates - Fred Goodwin and the like (we like to have a laugh about the old days at the Bank - and how grateful we are to the British tax payer) I don't have much time to get to the Ivy for lunch but i could pencil something in...........................

    • Is Dell Autos closing down completely or just moving? For whatever it's worth, for MOTs I've had good recent experience with The Test Centre in Deptford. They only do MOTs so they don't have any particular incentive to fail you and they usually have same day appointments. Open 7 days a week and late. https://www.thetestcentre.co.uk/our-test-centres/deptford-branch/ Obviously you would still need a "normal" garage to do servicing and repairs etc.
    • So what is the issue? You want compensation for the loss of value, or you want to expedite the matter?
    • No. What happened? I actually thought, considering it was what we used to call Guy Fawkes Day last night, the loud noises from  fireworks ended remarkably early. About 9pm? Maybe I just fell asleep and didn't hear any later ones. Do people actually burn Guys any more? Apart from at places like Lewes, where I believe they still have Bonfire Societies and burn effigies of various political figures etc.
    • The accompaniment to our "Christmas Pudding" aka Nothing-Whatever-Like-A- Christmas-Pudding last year  at The Cherry Tree was "brandy butter ice-cream." If it had ever been near any brandy, the brandy must have been waved in its direction from a very great distance. Same with butter. The ice cream tasted like bog standard "vanilla" from a catering tub. At least it did bear some resemblance to ice cream. Whereas the "Christmas Pudding" bore no resemblance whatever to any Christmas Pudding I have ever seen or tasted in my many  decades of seeing and tasting Christmas Puddings. Oh, and Cinzano Bianco. Bleurgh. My sister used to drink that. 🤢
