Hello!

I know a lot of kiwi families live around ED and someone mentioned that they thought there was a kiwi family group that met up? If not, would anyone be interested in starting a group? Help remember childhood favourites like Oma Rapeti?!

Also, has anyone been to the Kohanga Reo? My little one is a year old, not sure if that is too young...

Oh, and for some reason my husbands ED name is linked to my email, I'm Caroline!

Hi,

I'm a kiwi in ED. When I first moved to the area a few years ago there was a forum thread about Kiwi families meeting up. I never went along (as was pregnant with my first at the time) so am not sure if anything came of this. I'm sure someone will be along soon who might know more about this.

Either way I'm happy to meet up as I want my kids to be in touch with their kiwi side too!

Hello.

Another kiwi Mum here. I went along a few years back to a couple of coffee meet ups, but didn't really follow up on it and I'm not sure if it carried on or not.

I always meant to go to Kohanga, but Saturday mornings always seem busy, so we've never made it. We did go to the hangi that they are part of a couple of years ago, which was great. I YouTube clips of the traditional songs we did at school in an attempt to educate my 3 kids on the kiwi side of their heritage!

We are moving to NZ at the end of this year, after 15 years in London. Happy to meet up - my kids are all at school now (youngest mornings only), but maybe we should try to arrange a kiwi picnic once the weather warms up?

Sorry we will miss some of you. Let's definitely get another date in soon.

For Sunday - shall we meet outside the cafe in Peckham Rye park? I think there are picnic tables there, and then maybe head off to somewhere a bit greener in the park? You can spot us as we will be with the very blonde toddler.

    • Went to a fireworks display maybe 20 years ago at the Crystal Palace, it wasn't bonfire night, can't remember why it was being held, Capital Radio were there. There were people hanging from a crane, classical music, and quiet fireworks,  It was lovely, still dramatic with the colours but no loud bangs. Not sure why this hasn't become the norm.
    • Hi  After a surprising split I find myself trying to furnish a home. If you gave anything that you don't want that may help I'd be so so so grateful if you could let me know please.  Thank you so much
    • Hallo As far as I know  info you have quoted is wrong.  You can phone for an appointment although I have always found it easier to do online. Go to their website for info on how to book appointments Any requests I have made have been reviewed and answered by a GP within 4 hours
    • Nadia did a great job tidying up my very very overgrown yard. (See the before and after photos). I live in New Zealand and my tenants said a neighbour has been complaining about the out of control ivy. Nadia was easy to contact so over WhatsApp, managed to liaise between me and my tenants. Her quote was reasonable for the amount of work that needed doing, and the end result is great! She sent photos throughout so I could track progress. Would highly recommend her to others.
