I was there yesterday and at Joiner Street you're basically walking along the side of one wall of the Shard.

As before, I spoke to a man coming out of the Shard and he sat and we had a chat. He works on the firedoors! He also works on the firedoors within the gold Queen's Gold carriage coach and also within the Guildhall. Quite an expert then. He also said he really loved this job. Happy workers!

So I've talked with scaffolders, fire door workers, I would love to talk with a project manager - I wonder how many of those there are.

Immediately next to the Shard and part of the complex is what looks like another building. But as al four sides of the Shard are now being glazed, I could not work out what this other building is. Car park maybe? Very very very tall building in its own right and within the same compound.

The Eiffel Tower will still be a few ft taller than the Shard

Is it true that no buildings will be built in London higher than the Shard due to building restrictions and safety?

    • I'm guessing that most people with pets would not bring either the pets or fireworks into their day to day conversations, to complain or otherwise. Are you suggesting that only "timid" pets are scared by fireworks? What evidence do you have for that, exactly?  Or are you equating being scared of fireworks with being "timid"? And what about the foxes and other wildlife? Is it ok for them to be scared? Firework noise is not a noise that "comes with normal city living" ! What a very strange thing to say! Are you one of the people who have been constantly letting off fireworks recently? I'm assuming you don't have any pets yourself, or you wouldn't have these opinions, but if you do have pets, please share how they react when they hear loud bangs. Unless they are goldfish, in which case you probably wouldn't be able to tell.
