My OH was watching the construction through binocs recently when he saw one of the workers working on the top section slip, fall and dangle in mid-air from his safety harness until his co-workers hauled him back up.

We can see all this from our flats, but not the detail even through the binoculars. However, having seen Venus's four moons the other night with the telescope, we should try with that, even if the image will be upside down!

Not the best quality as I took it with my phone but have a look half way up the tower - a row of fellah's slowly abseiling down the building... Scary stuff.

Saw them yesterday Ruffers as my office is on Bermondsey street. Stood and watched a while amazed at having that as a job. I get vertigo cleaning windows on a bungalow. Think they may have been removing the covering protecting the glass.

I was waiting outside London Bridge station in the new forecourt bit and when looking up at the Shard it wasn't obvious that there was any "guttering" or anything else to stop water cascading of the building on to the people below.

How do they stop all the water just cascading down in some great flood when it rains heavily? Did they forget perhaps? Shall I call them and tell them?

It concerns me greatly.
