although the forum's birthday falls on the 18th September and I'd like to suggest we roll the celebration and drink into one on Friday 21st or Saturday 22nd... Hopefully we could get some sponsors and a willing venue too...


we can discuss tonight over a drink or two

Have fun at the plough but if you're going to eat I'd recommend crisps and olives. Last time I went there the "veg" of the day was a bowl of fried onions and carrots (mmmm yummy) and the "fresh line-caught mackerel" came out of a vacuum pack ....

Georgia - do we have an area booked and is it indoors or outdoors? No worries if there isn't the place is mahoosive anyway

Hi - have just tried to call them to reserve an area but the phone number is out of order. So unless anyone is around to pop in and ask, I guess we'll just have to sit where we can. Let's try to sit outside as the sun is shining...

New number at the Plough 0208 693 4236 - my friend work there it changed when they re-opened! There is a BBQ all over this weekend, quiz show next week on Thursday and a massive board outside advertising bank holiday Real ale and cider festival, BBQ, accoustic session - pulling out all the stops! I am a bit of a regular, mainly due to the fact my friend works there - but not be biased, I really do like it, they got board games which you can play while you chill-out - brilliant idea.


I will be looking out for the forum members in the near, but I cant make tonight as I out for a friends birthday.

i thoroughly enjoyed last night and i regret only that with so many people there isnt time to speak properly with everyone


i thought that they handled our tardiness in leaving with good grace as well considering they are a chain neighbourhood pub. .


but the big question remains. . Was louisa there?

Echo your thoughts Sean, was a lovely evening, but didn't get to talk to half enough people. Also, sorry if I did talk to anyone towards the end of the evening because I probably made very little sense! I was rather drunk last night :)-D


But hey, that's what being a numpty is all about! >:D<

It was a great night. I'm only sorry it didn't start earlier so that it could have gone on for longer. There were some people I didn't get to talk to, which is a shame. I had a great time though and met some lovely people. Roll on the EDF birthday bash!

      Thought others may be interested to help a local community centre help others.    My bank account offers roundup and it’s been growing all year. As well as treating myself or putting it towards a train ticket to see my family I’ve made a donation to the Albrighton.       I've never got Christmas pudding. The only times I've managed to make it vaguely acceptable to people is thus: Buy a really tiny one when it's remaindered in Tesco's. They confound carbon dating, so the yellow labelled stuff at 75% off on Boxing Day will keep you going for years. Chop it up and soak it in Stones Ginger Wine and left over Scotch. Mix it in with a decent vanilla ice cream. It's like a festive Rum 'n' Raisin. Or: Stick a couple in a demijohn of Aldi vodka and serve it to guests, accompanied by 'The Party's Over' by Johnny Mathis when people simply won't leave your flat.

      Not miserable at all! I feel the same and also want to complain to the council but not sure who or where best to aim it at? I have flagged it with our local MP and one Southwark councillor previously but only verbally when discussing other things and didn’t get anywhere other than them agreeing it was very frustrating etc. but would love to do something on paper. I think they’ve been pretty much every night for the last couple of weeks and my cat is hating it! As am I !

      That is also a Young's pub, like The Cherry Tree. However fantastic the menu looks, you might want to ask exactly who will cook the food on the day, and how. Also, if  there is Christmas pudding on the menu, you might want to ask how that will be cooked, and whether it will look and/or taste anything like the Christmas puddings you have had in the past.
