Colonel Blimp
The works are due to be completed by tomorrow, Friday 1st April. However, from a health and safety point of view, the playground will be inspected on Monday 4th May. If it passes its inspection, then it will be opened. Until then, it is dangerous for anyone, adult or child, to enter locked or cordoned off areas of the playground, and the police and community wardens have been asked to speak to anyone found in such areas. An official opening of the playground is scheduled for Saturday 9th April, between 11.00am and 2.00pm. Further information on this will soon be made available. I've just realised you probably meant Monday 4 April so now it makes sense. redjam
I drove past it on Sunday - there were definitely loads of kids playing in it, though it looked like there was still builder's equipment fenced off in one corner. Crokes
This is going to be too late for Camberwellbeauty but if anyone else is interested the playground appears to be open with no mention of safety checks due to happen. We've just come back and lots of children were having a great time in it. There is one corner that is roped off whilst work is completed there. OliviaDee
it's fab! one small part still cordoned off due to more rigorous safety checks still being carried but it really is brilliant.fair play and many thanks to denise and all at goose green friends, from me and my kids. (I got 4 chapters of my book read in the sun today and my kids didn't come near once - what more could you possibly want out of a playground?!) shmurgy
Agree - the recent improvements really have made a difference (and last year's refurb was already quite impressive) and our boy and his friends love it! Would be great if everyone (big and small) would look after the place and put their rubbish in the bins or take it with them. Spent one morning recently picking up far too many cartons, bottles etc... with a couple of bins less than half full. Shame. Tarot
Just thought I,d tell you all, Ive recently drove past the playground, and when I saw the tunnel that I felt concerned about a few posts back,I laughed so much.Mind you I would not have called it a tunnel, just a hole in a very small wall.I think the wood climbing frame looks dangerous, Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10330-goose-green-playground/page/4/#findComment-429878 Share on other sites
