I'm not sure if a particiular story I read in one the papers yesterday was an early contender for April fools day most ludicrous story of the year competition, or true. Apparently a local authority is putting padding around lamp posts and street signs to protect people from bumping into them whilst texting on their phones. Call me old fashioned, but if a person wishes to make a complete arse of themselves by not paying attention while they are out walking, isn't that their problem for being so bloody stupid?? If they are that irresponsible let them crack their heads open, which may teach them a hard but unforgettable lesson. Harsh but fair.

Apparently him and McGuinness were known at Stormont as the "Chuckle Brothers" due to how well they actually got on and all the jokes they cracked!

Paisley: A prostestant and a catholic go into a bar....

McGuinness:....KABOOM!

Both: hahahahahahaha

F?$kin' hilarious I bet.

Not really sure why, but that reminded me of a few years ago when all the tactile paving (bumpy pavement to tell blind people they're near a crossing point) in Wimbledon was filed down because all the old dears were complaining to the council that it was hurting their feet!

Keef, you may mock, but let me tell you, when i've been wearing heels all day and the balls of my feet are burning - that tactile pavement (never knew it was called that - nice) can play bloody murder. A bit like taking a meat tenderiser to my poor feet. Converse are as bad - very thin soles

I really should give up reading papers because some of the stories make me extremely angry, like the one I'm about to launch into a rant about.

A feral bag of shite from Bolton, called Joseph Booth and a 15 year old who can't be named for legal reasons (EH!!! He can kill a human but can't have his named publicised, fecking hell, give me strength), kicked and punched an innocent man to death. The victim was so badly beaten that his family couldn't recognise him. And what, you might ask, has the judge recommended by way of a sentence for this piece of shite. A 12 year minimum. This guy had also removed a tagging device hours before the fatal attack.

Well I for one would happily inject this vermin with a lethal injection, but it would be too good for him. I'd let the victims family loose on the bastard and let them kick him to death if they see fit to do so. The murderer has taken a mans most precious gift, his life, and should have his taken in return. The murderer is effluent and should be disposed of accordingly. His victim has no second chance and the lives of his family have been shattered beyond repair. Why give such vermin a second chance? Get shot of him and good riddance to bad rubbish. Phew!!! I feel better for that, shame the victims family won't ever have their son/brother back.

I want EVERYONE accused of ANYTHING - including me - to have their accusations written up in the tabloids

THEN - I don't want no steeenking trial - I want the readers to judge me with only the article in front of them - none of that fancy evidence stuff

And not only do I want the same people to sentence me - I ONLY want them to do so when they have JUST read the article and are at their MOST upset

If we're going to talk Bringing Back Hanging, I loved the idea that if it goes to referendum, everyone who will have voted yes gets their name put into a hat, and every time there's a miscarriage of justice, a name gets drawn from the hat and they get executed as recompense for their part in having taken the innocent man's life.

Very fitting.

The thing is with this case is that the guy gave himself up after he had beaten and kicked the guy to death, so no miscarriage of justice here, and no tears from me if the guy was executed. Again, why worry about a killer, our thoughts should be with the family who have lost a son, and brother.

I'm not especially worried about a killer Atila

I would worry about society in general if we regressed from the current justice system back to a time when mob-rule, err... ruled the land however. You would be going some to show that society wasn't much more violent back in dem days

So given the 2 options, I'll stick with the current rule of law. That doesn't put me on the side of killers thangyouvermuch

    • A quick assessment on having a barter scheme amongst the community. An exchange of goods and services may be really helpful during these difficult times.    I wonder if it’s something that someone would be willing to set up separately and link to the forum? Or perhaps  an additional aspect of the forum itself if it was easy to include? I don’t have IT knowledge to set this up unfortunate, but I do have skills that I could offer. From past experience, it would probably work best as a direct exchange rather than coupon credit.    I may be flaunting the rules by posting on this twice, admin please feel free to delete one if this is the case.

Thank you for stepping up.   whilst I’m here, I was thinking it would be a good idea to have a barter scheme amongst the community. an exchange of goods and services may be really helpful during these difficult times.    wonder if it’s something that someone would be willing to set up separately and link to the forum?
