Helium balloons?

Bit last minute but does anyone know if you can buy helium balloons anywhere locally for a certain someone's first birthday party....it's this afternoon and he's spent the last couple of days oooh-ing at the co-op balloons!

I got one the other day from Bonnies flower shop on Lordship Lane - not sure if they have 1st birthday ones but there was a fairly big choice.

Asda sell a kit with about 30 balloons, a helium tank, and ribbon for ?20 as opposed to the ?30 most places charge

I got loads from the Walworth Road - bizarrely there are two party shops down there selling loads of party gear. The one I went to was in the parade on the corner of John RUskin street and Camberwell Rd (I always think of it as the Walworth Road!)

We got them at Sallys the Florists just by Lucas - prob not the most economical but v handy and we had a lovely party!

Having a balloon planning moment! Do you have to buy them to get them blown up at the florist can someone tell me? And are they open on Sundays? (Thinking they won't stay up for over a day?!)

I'm not sure whether you have to buy them there BUT they should last if you got them on saturday - we still have three of ours floating about nearly 3 weeks after the party!

We still have one from my son's first birthday and he's 3 1/2! Weird, yes, but it has barely lost any air! And now I can't bear to part with it.........

Those things will last a looooooong time.

hi If you are using foil balloons they will stay up for a week so you can get them done a couple of days before. If you are doing latex balloons they are only guaranteed for 6 hrs then they will start to go down. If you are having a party and want 10 or more it will be more cost effective to get a gas canister and do them at home. If you are not confident to do this yourself I do party decorations and could order, then come and blow them up for you and arrange them in the house/party area but it is easy to do and will work out cheaper than paying for them at a florist etc, leanne
