So Long London....

dear fellow forum-ites

just a quick "farewell" message as tosh and i are heading west to the new world (new england to be exact) to raise our kids in the shadows of new hampshire's white mountains. it's been a great pleasure logging on for my forum "fixes" these past couple of years. i have to say that my new local forum (from what i've seen thus far) just doesn't compare. but then, perhaps i will feel less in awe of the incredible wit of the ED forum regulars and therefore more at home there! we yanks just don't seem to have the mental inventiveness that you all have. (see how i can blame my bluntness on my nationality?)

be well, all!

p.s. many many thanks to the admins for all their work on the forum -- it has been an incredible resource for us

Oh..

Give it a few months "in the shadows of new hampshire's white mountains"

Soon enough he'll be back for a bit of "EDF sunshine"

What's the internet for after all ?

But maybe though....

...he's being given a "new identity" & his Boston based " Fed " handlers won't allow him to blow his cover.

What with New Hampshire being the safest state in the US, it all makes sense

I suppose though ,at least he has got "this" to look forward to

"Pwwwaacck..."

*blows duck call thingy, ponders what he might have done*

Good luck anyway... "they're behind you"

( just kiddin" )

Best of luck in your move and settling into your new home, Shosh and Tosh and kids. May you be very happy.

Sorry I never got a chance to get to know you better - but please stay in touch with the Forum, and invite us all over for a fall party!

thanks guys. we do have 12 bedrooms and a guest cottage over there so plenty of space for a forum field trip... (yes, i know, now i'm just bragging... but that's what you get in NH for selling a house in ED). sorry.

and yes, i could log on from the US, but i think it will just make me sad and homesick, all you clever clever people having monthly drinks and exchanging witty banter. whilst i have earnest, heartfelt conversations all the time.

As a regular visitor to Maine, I have occasionally slipped over the border to New Hampshire. The White Mountains are beautiful ? would love to have them on my doorstep every morning. Slightly worried by the state motto of ?Live Free Or Die? ? seems like a tough ultimatum.

    • I have no doubt that local people are genuinely involved (and personally can understand their not wanting to publicise their involvement). That said the proliferation of One groups across London and the degree of co-ordination suggests it is more than just a local grassroots group. I’m not really that interested, except that many of their supporters do bang on about transparency and accountability. I would be interested in the substance of their latest missive. Who has been pressurising the emergency services and how? Who genuinely believes that people are partially covering their plates and driving through due to inadequate signage? Sounds a little ridiculous / desperate. It feels like it may be time for them to start coming to terms with the changes tbh.
