Loz
Mick Mac - are you insinuating that the Queen swings both ways? Or did she go without through the Thatcher years? PeckhamRose
"thrown" hahahaMeanwhile, under the existing right wing Labour Government, the public sector has made it hell for people remember, we already had a right wing government. Friend of a friend of mine who is a social services leader finds three departments merging into one and she has to reapply for her own job. With ALL of her experience and usefulness to society her job is so badly paid she qualifies for key worker accommodation, and the mortgage is tied to that. So if she fails to get her own job, she loses her home. And now we have Cameron! jenny1840
Obviously huge congratulations are in order to both Harriet and Tessa for their fantastic achievements in the elections, clearly they have been rewarded for all their hard work by the supportive residents of ED with increased majorities, well done ED folk. As for the EDF poll I can only think it must be down to the fact that sometimes you need to get out amongst the public to experience the real world. I suppose its like those french dainty kings moments before the public led them to the gallows, that dawning realisation that their courtiers had miss represented the mood of the nation, a little unrepresentative clique drunk on delusional thoughts of power, massaging the ego's of a powder faced king. Basically as they say down Peckham way " there has been a lot of chattin shit". Jah Lush
Cuts cuts cuts. Here they come - "at least ?20 billion from the NHS" for starters. That's the NHS fukced then. What did Cameron say "the NHS is safe in our hands." Yeah! Like hell it is. Like hell it is.That ?20bn of cuts was already factored into the NHS budget by the Labour gov't and its 5 year spending plan for the NHS. It represents the difference between a general budget increase over 5 years that is in line with UK inflation as measured by CPI and "real" NHS inflation of staff and consumables costs that rises by significantly more than CPI. That's the reality of gov't spending - all dep'ts seem to have a higher rate of inflation than the national measure. So that's ?20bn of cuts not to be blamed on the Lib Con coalition - there'll be plenty of cuts to blame them for soon I'm sure, tho' the cuts are required to balance the books left behind by G Brown and co; they are not being implemented out of malice & spite. One action taken has been to increase tax on certain Capital Gains - not a standard Tory move, but a necessary one unfortunately.
