You do have to wonder about a woman who uses CAPITAL letters in an email to her hubby. He's henpecked I tell you.

The email says: "One simple message: You MUST have SPECIFIC from Boris OTHERWISE you cannot guarantee your support. The details can be worked out later on, but without that you have no leverage.

"Crucially, the membership will not have the necessary reassurance to back Boris, neither will Dacre/Murdoch, who instinctively dislike Boris but trust your ability enough to support a Boris Gove ticket. Do not concede any ground. Be your stubborn best. GOOD LUCK."

agree

but as for the return of Boris, he really is damaged goods this time - there will not be any forgiveness for the disasters that he has brought onto his party and the country as a whole

Let's hope ....

In a political sense we have. I'd be astonished if the Tories (at least) ever let him near them again after the embarrassment he's caused them.

He's not being given an easy ride in the media or on social media. Heseltine's piece and Ewan MacGregor and Alex Kapranos' tweets don't pull any punches.

I agree with Mick Mac- Gove is henpecked- his wife is probably round at no. 10 measuring up as we type. Gove has repeatedly said in the past he isn't PM material. Theresa May is a Remainer ....Liam Fox is a Catholic and voted against Same-Sex Marriages. I reckon the Remainers know that Gove is probably unpopular with the membership, and whispered in his ear. They want Theresa May hoping that the unthinkable will happen and she will try and p*ss on the majority 17.5 million Leave voters ...Come Back Boris...

So here’s the plan:'   I'm just watching Trump's arrival at Stansted. Apparently, he's spending tonight at the US Ambassador's house in Regent's Park. Could be a long wait for some quite pissed off people in Windsor. He's not due there until tomorrow.
    • Sue said "But I'm sure the silver tongued Keir Starmer will be able to smooth things over. Not to mention the King and Queen 🤢"  Starmer dithers and is unable to make any decision and when he finally does he gets in massively wrong and duly backtracks. The guy is a liability and clown who the country needs rid off before he taxes us to heaven whilst bankrupting the country.  And as he's flying in and around Windsor for two days, I do hope they've got the skies covered as he's a sitting duck.
    • I assumed that the noise was from Heathrow planes - until the power outage in March that brought everything to a standstill. I still heard plane noise during that time - seems like it's City Airport planes. I wonder whether flight times and patterns can be adapted during the early hours before 6am to minimise noise pollution (e.g. slightly later times and not flying so low).
    • I was replying to Jazzer, who said it wasn't going to change Trump's presence here. However, you are also obviously right, and also  nothing will change Trump for the better. And yes, this could be counter productive. But I'm sure the silver tongued Keir Starmer will be able to smooth things over. Not to mention the King and Queen 🤢  I think it's right that people should feel able to make their feelings known. It appears to be  a peaceful and well planned demonstration, and presumably they won't be bringing out the Baby Trump inflatable again, which must be well deflated by now.
