I'm currently pregnant and breastfeeding. According to what I read the foetus gets what it needs first so you don't need to worry- as long as you are eating well and feel ok then everyone should be getting what they need.

I was hoping my little boy would self-wean but it hasn't happened yet!

I'm also 6 months pregnant and still b/f. I was hoping that my 22 month old would self wean, but if any thing she has just started to want MORE!!

I am probably eating a little too much (as I've put on weight)- but such is life it seems at these times.. I will confess I am a little worried about how my daughter will cope with the competition- we will have to wait a see..

Respect due to Fuschia- extended b'f of twins.. wow!

Mine need to stop before the new baby comes, really, as they tend to squabble over their favourite side even when they have one each, as at present. Can't see them being very impressed at having to share with a baby, so while I'd probably be quite laid back feeding a newborn if I had a toddler still feeding sometimes, I can't quite picture it in our current circumstances!!

Its absolutely fine to breastfeed whilst pregnant, there is no sudden need to wean. You may find your baby self weans in the first trimester due to a change in the taste of your milk, or maybe around the four month mark when some women notice a reduction in their milk supply. Your child may well carry on for longer than you'd expect, even through the colostrum and beyond. If you are both happy to feed, continue to do so, it will not cause any harm. You may find your baby is more keen to breastfeed during your pregnancy also.

25m atm! Will be 2 3/4 when the new one comes... yes, I will be the one with a double buggy and either a newborn in a sling or one twin hanging off a buggy board trying to grab things off of shelves. That's if we ever leave the house again, of course!

    • Another recommendation for Dulwich Test and Services Centre. Only been using them for a couple of years but wish I’d found them earlier
    • A new roadmap (surely railmap?!) for rail accessibility has been published: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/accessible-railways-roadmap It says "approximately 56% of stations and around 66% of the 1.3 billion journeys that take place on the network have step-free access to platforms...  "£373 million has been committed over the next 5 years to deliver Access for All projects, providing step-free access from station entrances to and between platforms, alongside other essential accessibility upgrades. These works, together, will increase the number of step-free stations across Great Britain from 56% to 58%. "This improvement will make travel easier with step-free access available at stations covering an increased share of total rail journeys – from 66% up to 71%" Don't know what that means for us here: upgrading Peckham Rye would cover a lot of rail journeys but the cost has no doubt increased from the £40m figure previously quoted. So that would eat into a lot of the funding.
