Am sure location wouldn't be a problem! What time of day would we be looking at meeting? (not that I know if I could make it yet!!) Just wondering as Sundays are especially busy in most pubs/cafes around lunchtimes - maybe (soft) drinks mid/late afternoon could be good - or in the morning.
Sunday 11th July fine for me. I think for those of us who already have kids, venue will really depend on whether we are planning to do our first meet up with or without little ones. If with kids then somewhere like Dulwich Park cafe would be ideal. What does everyone think? Eventually I would hope that those of us with children the same age will find that they can get on and play together...

Could it be worth meeting minus children??

That way we could chat without having to keep eyes out for children - especially as come the autumn time out alone will be even rarer.

Understand this could be controversial as I seem to be the only one posting here who doesn't have kids already!

if its a weekend, then hopefully most of us should have someone around to look after the kids, and it would be great to meet up as grown ups first, as otherwise I know so much time will be spent with "in a minute", "mummy's talking", "come here" etc.

For that reason Dulwich cafe doesn't appeal at first either, esp on a Sunday!

Morning coffee/Afternoon tea sounds like a plan.

Seems like we're getting somewhere. So, Sunday 11th July, I don't have any kids (yet!) either so up to those with, if the kids come along or not but agree that it might be easier to get to know each other without...

Is the cafe in Dulwich Park really busy for Sunday morning coffee?? If it is we could just meet there, get take away and take a wander through the park - weather permitting!!

I do have a child (baby2 due 17 Sept) but I am with buggie (post above) - meet ups without children sound somehow much more appealing. Besides Sunday is my only day off from Mummy's duties... But I will understand if it is not possible. Anyway I am putting 11 July in the diary and lets talk details nearer to the time.

enjoy the last few weeks with nice bumps before we all get too big and heavy, just in time for hot August :)

Can I blame it on baby brain?! I only know it as The Mag but thought I'd better attempt the full name in case other people weren't familiar.

Ladywotlunches - good question and I've just checked and it's not open until midday so shall we change venue to Cafe Nero? It's open from 8.30am.

Hi I'm due my second baby on 26 Sept. My first one is almost 17 months old now. I'm also new to the area and the first of my friends from the 1st mat leave to be having a second baby, so it would be lovely to make friends with mums in the area. I'll put the details of the 11th July meeting in my diary, although I may not be able to make it as it's my sister's hen do the day before and the plans aren't 100% concrete yet. There was some talk of her friends staying over at my place, which may make it difficult for me to get there for 10.30am. I'll let you know closer to the time if I'm coming.

    • I've found it quite a useful thread.  Apparently protein powders are toxic. Not that I have ever, or will ever, try them.   https://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/the-hidden-dangers-of-protein-powders
    • Personally can’t stand carpets however where I am renting has carpet in  bedroom and hall. Not great quality and certainly not cleaned. Was  in B & M recently and looking at carpet shampoo -wow got a can costing £2.99 to test.. No scrubbing as others seemed to imply. Spray, leave and poof - smells great, no dabbing or scrubbing and c leaving rubbish. First to admit is only temp solution but no need to hire carpet cleaner instantly  or pay for a company to come and deal with professionally. For 3/6 months happy to have used this - Have a carpet cleaner and in a month or so plan to use it.    Buy a steam cleaner for floors - not expensive - much better than mop and bucket and more hygienic all round. Can pick up second hand ones on e bay.
    • Is this a true story? What protein powder causes kidney damage? Why didn't you cite an article? I shop at H&B, mostly to buy their castor oil, however, I would recommend researching any product beforehand. They do have very informative articles on their website. To be honest, I don't see the point of this post. You could have just taken the product back for a refund or complained in store and in writing.
    • Well the Italian on Lordship Lane  recommended here was delicious.  Thank you so very much -my party were extremely pleased with ambience, location and lovely food plus puddings to die for. They are also on Deliveroo.  Will certainly be back when I am back in 6 weeks time. Went past Love Dulwich at lunchtime on my way to Italian - only a party of 2 - food might be excellent but decided to give it a miss - wasn’t impressed with manager who admitted he had only been there 2 weeks. Might be being totally unfair but doubt it, as no comments since about a month ago from Pugwash.
