Yep. That's it. Thin fizzy and full of chemicals is how I like my BEER (that's what it is right?). Just like my women.

I must apologise for any colonial disdain for British bbqing ability I may have displayed in this thread. We went to friends for one on Saturday night and our Croydon born and bred host put on a very impressive spread indeed. Not a sausage or burger in sight and no flames to cremate them over.

I have to stick up for sausages on BBQ's, I love them in bread with ketchup! Burgers however are not so good! Lamb, now that is the best!!!! Oh and chicken.... and ribs!!!!

Which reminds me, my sister bought some lovely "ribs" for a bbq yesterday. Rigs off the bone, they were lovely, and you actually had some meat to eat, but still, ribs off the bone, something is very wrong there! :-S

    • I know people won’t have any sympathy but the SEND challenge was brought up when taxing parents who have opted for independent school to meet a child’s SEND needs. Funding crisis is getting worse and the VAT on Education pushed children out of independent schools, now their SEND needs are to be met by the state.
    • I completely agree with you - and last night was really terrible where I am. Between midnight and 1am was the worst, where it genuinely felt like a war zone. I had to run out of my house to try and stop a grown man setting them off in open space right by our front doors. In response he went to throw a half lit one at me and then seemed to think better of it. I am so sad at how bad the situation has got here and how selfish people are. Fireworks are bad for the environment and for pets and wildlife, as well as just being unnecessary noise for people too. I have sent an email today to Helen Hayes, which I have done previously on this issue. Would advise anyone to write to your MP to do the same, and to ask them to engage with the debates scheduled for 19 Jan.
    • And they started long before midnight!
    • First mate - I wondered if I was imagining things at 4.45 this morning . Apparently not .
