citizenED - thats FAB news, cool. :)-D

Thank god someone mentioned turkey twizzlers, I'll have you know I'm stocking up on cheeze-stringz and Spam just in case we run out. And I bet we do too (tu)

oh frisbee now you are talking...lets just hope Daizie's Timmy Enrique Hallal doesn't show us up ::o

[quote name='woofmarkthedog

which end of "Peckham Rye" please...?]

Y-es' date=' at the risk of sounding like an inexperienced picnic planner [i'](as if)[/i] who doesn't know her way around South London, or indeed, Peckham Rye park....I was gonna ask PeckhamRose or Charliecharlie for help here?

Or anyone on the forum who is coming along? Any helpful suggestions for where to meet on Peckham Rye park?*

Cheers.

*doesn't have to be OS grid co-ordinates or anything.

Yes, but it's part of the dog-free area and at least one person is bringing her woofer.

...and we don't wish to indirectly discriminate against "Woof" either;-) or legalbeagle for that matter.

But, joking aside, a designated picnic area does sound like a sensible idea (though a pretty Japanese garden sounds idyllic)...oh decisions decisions...

Moos and SimonM - thanks so much for your helpful suggestions for whereabouts in the park to hold this. Hopefully this means you are coming along too!

Rustic tables and benches sounds fab as does the idyllic garden....guess it depends whether pets are coming too. Sure we'll find somewhere thats perfect (tu)

Er, perhaps not LM - it's a lovley little spot for a quiet family picnic but no good for a forum rabble who might frighten the ducks! Remember there will be a frisbee, assorted dangerous foodstuffs and, I dare say, some booze.

I'd opt for a spot on the Common in front of the cafe or by the children's playground in the park.

Speak for yourself citizenED!;-)

But yes - on reflection, you might well be right...shame.

hahaha, hands up who is gonna take responsibility for The Dog? (only joking you-know-who)

.....and whats all this about forum 'rabble'? ;-)

*cancels bulk order for Pimms and strawberry cream teas, replaces with super-strength beer and pretzels*

Well there's that nice strip between the Japanese Garden and the Bowling green which has nice views of both, is fenced off and won't frighten the water fowl. (I don't think I've seen a kingfisher there for two or possibly three years though anyway..)- or the big meadow facing the new school..or...or...loads of gorgeous spots to choose from really!

Am attending a school reunion that weekend so won't make it either :-)

I heard that Scoop's coconut ice-cream is going to be handed out free at the picnic...
