Hmmm... so in other words, these are men who sit on the fence. Could be something else to look out for.

LB (so close to LD!), just think of it as the first episode of the next series of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

By episode ten all will be resolved. In some sort of fashion.

I think when the yoof do it, it's an American rap/gang thing, implying they are "packing heat".

For grown men in suits, it will be a Masonic thingy.

If I may step in here and clear this business up. These fellows were not wearing trousers with one leg rolled up they were in fact wearing shorts with one leg rolled down. The reason for this was because yesterday was Monday.

Honestly, whoever heard of a mason riding a bike?

Brendan, I have always considered you to be a good enough sort of egg and one doesn't want to be contrary. But I can assure you that I know a trouser when I see one, and that was a trouser. Not a pretty one, nor very well tailored since you're asking, but a trouser nonetheless.

Moos, or more likely the have one leg rolled up to show they ARE wearing a tracker bracelet.

More likely is the bike thing. Especially if they're riding fixed bikes - getting your trousers caught in the chain on a fixie doesn't mean dirty trousers, it means your legs gets pulled into the drive chain, blood everywhere and you end up on the floor.

But njc97, I think we established that it was the incorrect leg of the trouser to be attributable to cyclists.......Or do you disagree? Are there places where the bike chain requires the other leg to be exposed? Maybe in France, where they ride on the other side of the road?

I sincerely hope similar is available still because for many elderly their pet is their main source of comfort and company.
    • In a couple of places locally, I have come across this. I am fairly sure that they attempt to do the bill in their head. If you just say , “no, I think it’s x” they start again and get to an agreeable number, or find a calculator. I don’t think it’s a malicious attempt to swindle people. Just not great arithmetic.
    • There are excellent charities like the Greenwich Wildlife Network who will help if you report any concerns with local wildlife. Foxes are wonderful creatures who had been forced into our town and cities and are just doing their best to survive, we should take care of them when we can.
    • Like I thought… prob like that for most of the day.. especially after people had walked their dogs, with friends, relatives  kids…
