Hi all,

Is anyone else having problems with their water today? The water went off for about 30-60 mins yesterday lunchtime and this morning the pressure is low.

Thames Water live [http://www.thameswater.co.uk/thameswaterlive/index.htm[ is reporting a leak at Wood Vale/Lordship Lane so this might be affecting the supply to the bottom of Underhill I suppose.

Just phoned Thames Water : there is a burst main in Sydenham Hill SE23 which is having a knock-on effect in SE22 and affecting a wide area. They confirm that engineers on site. See latest updates on thameswater.co.uk 'network latest'

The customer services rep at Thames Water said that the Live Map wasn't very 'live'! She directed me to 'network latest' which I haven't found yet...

Looking at the Live Map - it has been updated - big red area covering bottom half of Underhill/Melford/Wood Vale/bottom Overhill - with news that repair is underway.

No water at all at top end of Upland rd but a neighbour has spoken to Thames water in the last few minutes & they said that even though they will not finish repairs today, we should have running water in about an hour as they're going to reroute it.
Just got a similar update from TW, they are trying to reroute and inject water into the system, both so they can get the water on and repair the leak, but "it's not going quite to plan". Aim is still to get water back on by this afternoon.

By now I really ought to know to start stockpiling water towards the August! This happens so often at this time of year. Anyone remember the 3 day drought of 2003??!

I know it's not entirely Thames Water's fault but they could handle these incidents better with accurate & consistent updates.

Hi,

I am on Lordship Lane Lane Estate and we have nothing at all- I have overheard neighbours saying the same thing. Does anyone know how long this might be for, as in most likely and worst case? Obviously the last thing they tried did not work. Has anyone had any communication about this from anyone? Before when this has happened they brought around bottles of water- will they do that again? I am not very well, would love a shower but more urgent than that do not have much drinking water left. Do I need to be asking someone to bring me something around- I do not want to ask anyone to change their plans to help me out if it will be back on soon...

Thanks in advance

Hi

We live on L Lane opposite Dulwich library & have been without water since early this morning, but in the

last 5 mins our kitchen tap has started running again- v low pressure trickle, but it's something...

Fingers crossed this is the start of things going back to normal, as it's been a dismal bank holiday

here with a poorly baby and a potty training toddler!

Let's hope....!

    • yes, inside looks like a squeeze, we went in early summer and sat outside, really nice way to spend the evening and watch the world (and knackered commuters) go by.
    • Good luck with this - there have been several requests over the years by students needing to do infant observations.  I was lucky when I did mine  - way back in 1994 at a local nursery. Have you tried contacting the NCT to see if there are any local groups who would be willing to participate? As a mother of 2 - found the observation very informative - mine was a 2 year old child as my course stated a child under 3. Got my highest grade for this project so was very happy.
    • Happy birthday! I've just read a bunch of your reviews and really enjoyed it. You write Interestingly without being too ornate, and you manage to give a really good insight into the "vibe" of a place as well as the food. Totally agree with your review of Rocca - it's simple, great food in a friendly atmosphere at a completely reasonable price, esp considering the location.
    • Hello,  I am a 52-year old mother and an integrative counsellor who lives and works in West Dulwich, SE21. In mid January I am starting a new training in Parent Infant Psychotherapy (helping parents to bond with their babies), and a key component of the course is a 24-month infant observation.  I’m looking for someone who will be giving birth ideally in January or February and who would allow me to observe their baby for one hour a week until the baby’s second birthday. The baby can be awake or asleep, playing, feeding, eating or interacting with carer/s and family members - whatever they normally do at that time.  The purpose of the observation is to enable me to gain a thorough knowledge of very early infant development and to develop the capacity to maintain an observationally minded and non-judgemental attitude in my work as an infant-parent psychotherapist.  I will provide enhanced DBS clearance and I’m happy to answer any questions.  Please forward this email to anyone who might be interested, email me at [email protected] or call me on 07949716043. I would be extremely grateful for any leads. Many thanks,  Millie  Millie Burton, MBACP Integrative Counsellor [email protected] millieburton.com
