Apologies but as I.literally, finished putting my Bets on at 2.50PM on Sat.Afternoon then my bets were not published,in advance, which is all that matters.I now stand accused of "Aftertiming" but they were 4-Fold:

1/ NAP:Gillingham @5/6 to beat Grimsby=3/0.

2/ Leeds to beat Crewe@8/15=5/2

3/ Brentford to beat Dagenham(false position-flatterring start) @5/4=2/1.

4/ Leyton Orient to Win at Walsall. This last one was NOT my tip(I,rarely tip "Away" Sides) but I was told a Group of "informed" shrewdies were "lumping on" in their Thousands, which I can only assume meant that Walsall had a Flu Bug thru' the Squad.

Draw/L Orient * 10.88 8.00 Back 79.00

L Orient/L Orient * 7.60 9.00 Back -9.00

Walsall/L Orient 65.00 3.00 Back 05-Sep-08 15:28 -3.00

Back subtotal: 67.00

Lay subtotal: 0.00

Market subtotal: 67.00

Commission @ 4.81%:3.22

Net Market Total: 63.78

Thats the only one I did online and I Won ?63.78..I'm always sceptical about "tips" based on "inside knowledge" so would never advise getting too involved on this type of Bet.

NEXT WEEK:I will advise my bets BEFORE the Matches!:)

Tony please for heavens sake can you please put spaces after your commas and fullstops and employ the use of paragraphs when you write stuff on the Forum because without all of that it makes it very very hard to decipher let alone read what on earth you've written.

A bad week actually and it's only Tuesday.

I reckon they're Everton fans who keep turning over the Liverpool players houses. Didn't they take them long though did it. I'm sure he'll be fully covered though.

Hat's off all around to the England display - more of the same please. But that Walcott seems unnaturally level-headed doesn't he? I'm glad he has learned to be a bit more selfish as well....

Give him 5 years and he will be awesome

I'm pretty pleased with the Republic result - by all accounts it's a tough place to get something from and we seem to be more solid under Trappatoni. Norn Irn did pretty well too, and glad to see Scotland get the three points

Now if only Bale had converted that penalty for Wales...

    • But all those examples sell a wide variety of things,  and mostly they are well spread out along Lordship Lane. These two shops both sell one very specific thing, albeit in different flavours, and are just across the road from each other. I don't think you can compare the distribution of shops in Roman times to the distribution of shops in Lordship Lane in the twenty first century. Well, you can, but it doesn't feel very appropriate. Haa anybody asked the first shop how they feel? Are they happy about the "healthy competition" ?
    • ED is included in the 17 August closure set (or just possibly 15 August, depending on which part of the page you trust more) listed at https://metro.co.uk/2025/07/25/full-list-25-poundland-stores-confirmed-close-august-23753048/. Here incidentally are some snippets from their annual reports, at https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/02495645/filing-history. 2022: " during the period we opened 41 stores and closed 43 loss-making/under-performing stores.  At the period-end we were trading from 821 stores in the UK, IoM and ROI. ... "We renogotiated 82 leases in the year, saving on average 45% versus the prior lease agreement..." 2023: "We also continued to improve our market footprint through sourcing better store locations, opening 53 and closing 51 stores during the year." 2024:  "The ex-Wilco stores acquired in the prior year have formed a core part of this strategy to expand our store network.  We favour quality over quantity and during the period we opened 84 stores and closed 71 loss-making/under-performing ones."
    • Ha! After I posted this, I thought of lots more examples. Screwfix and the hardware store? Mrs Robinson and Jumping Bean? Chemists, plant shops, hairdressers...  the list goes on... it's good to have healthy competition  Ooooh! Two cheese shops
    • You've got a point.  Thinking Leyland and Screwfix too but this felt different.
