I don't see how you can say we didn't deserve at least a point last night.

Atletico had 2 shots on goal all night. Ref made some terrible decisions and finally a call went our way and it was debatable. A Swedish ref should not be officiating at that level. He has nowhere near enough experience, unlike referees from la liga, the premiership etc.

I don't see how you can say we didn't deserve at least a point last night.

I never did. We deserved a point, I just said Atletico deserved their point, and I'm not sure I agree with the phrase Liverpool deserved AT LEAST a point. Think it was a fair result basically.

The lad Ngog was fecking shite when he came on, looked way way ou of his league!

Typical Away performance by many decent teams, namely plenty of possession but no real penetration and Roma scored against the run of play to go in with a lucly 1/0 Lead.

That is what I said last night.

Now substitute Chelsea for Man United at Celtic tonight!...They have had 75% of the game but can't put it in,even from 5 yards out.(6)

Still think they will in the last 25 mins though.

Law Of Averages.

I kept the faith and Won my Bet: Celtic-Half/Time--Draw Full-Time(Also did Celtic-ManUtd and ManUtd-Draw) but thanks to that XXXX Bebatov(who missed from 6 yards-centre of Goal--trying doing that-it ain't easy to miss:X) I would have got the other bet up,as well

Under 2.5 Goals @ 1.16 ?427.00 ?496.63 ?69.63 ...though after trading it cost me ?239 not the original ?427 Profit.

Cheers Berba(6)

p.s That was the LAST kick of the game, literally.

Where as I am hoping for a series of Spurs injuries, and an unfortunate incident where some of the baggy flesh on Harry Redknapp's face gets caught in a huge industrial fan and rips his head off! The saggy faced one is trying to nick our goalkeeping coach and chief scout! The swine! ;)

David James has today stated that he will not leave Pompey. Not much point in signing a 38 yr old keeper imo. Defoe can leave but not to go to Tottenham.

Diarra - well it looks like he will be off, but I reckon it will be for Champs League (so only Man U or Liverpool in this country and Liverpool probably could not afford him. We'll have to wait and see.

My bet is on Krancjkar going to Spurs to link up with Modric and Corluka (you are welcome to him by the way) reckon this could happen for around ?10m-12m

You are of course welcome to Djimi Traore, David Nugent, Lauren, John Utaka or Papa Booba Diop Do whop de doo!

Reckon Spurs may try and get Belhadj next summer as well! He is mustard!

So a good shot stopper but calamitous at crosses...James-10 years then.

??? Great performance from The Spurs last night with man-mounatain Tom Huddlestone Man of the Match for me. Its encouraging to see a smooth, slick performance to follow on from 2 games where we've ridden our luck at times but got the all important points. A night of Rarities too with the first european hat trick for Spurs in 25 years(the long winded Crooks bagged our last) and young John Bostock becoming our youngest ever debutante at 16 years of age. Modric was outstanding again and everything looks encouraging for our visist to Citeh on Sunday. :)

Clive Tyldsley. Clive Tyldsley. Dear God that man's annoying.

I've listened to him slowly disappearing up the collective United ar5e for years and last night was the first time I've heard him commentate on City what with us not being in Europe much. It's even worse listening to him commentate on a team you support, constantly trying to put together memorable phrases and sound like everything is historic.

And then he has the ignorance to say City (City!) are safe with a two goal lead and can now relax. Clearly a man who has never seen the club play and who knows nothing about football.

I just hope Channel 5 have our other games.

Arsenal 1 Manchester United 1

Wigan Athletic 0 Stoke City 0

Hull City 1 Bolton Wanderers 1

Sunderland 1 Portsmouth 2

West Ham 1 Everton 0

Liverpool 4 West Bromwich 0

What bon3yard said and ok Keef Bent is improving, slowly but surely. I feel someone like Redknapp can only give him the kind of confidence he needs to put in the kind of performances that he is now beginning to show. His first hat-trick in five years though. Still needs to do better for me. Anyway he has created a nice bit competition for places up front with Pavlyuchenko and that can only be a good thing.

Very entertaining game last night, Modric at his best, a hat-trick for Bent, Woodgate in total command at the back but Man of the Match has to go to Huddlestone who was superb throughout laying on all of Bent's goals and scoring a fabulous volley direct from a Bentley corner.

I've got to mention the fans from Dinamo Zagreb who were brilliant and in fantastic voice all night and really added to a great atmosphere. They lit a few flares which reminded us that we were playing a European tie and when secrurity moved in they protested by all taking the shirts off. They continued singing, and banging their drums and blowing their whistles in time even after the game was long over. Even louder and more continuous that Pompey's away support and that's saying something.

Arsenal 2 Manchester United 3

Wigan Athletic 2 Stoke City 1

Hull City 2 Bolton Wanderers 1

Sunderland 2 Portsmouth 2

West Ham 1 Everton 2

Liverpool 3 West Bromwich 0

Blackburn Rovers 1 Chelsea 4

Aston Villa 3 Middlesbrough 1

Manchester City 1 Tottenham Hotspur 2

Fulham 2 Newcastle United 2

    • Yes, these are all good points. I agree with you, that division has led us down dangerous paths in the past. And I deplore any kind of racism (as I think you probably know).  But I feel that a lot of the current wave of xenophobia we're witnessing is actually more about a general malaise and discontent. I know non-white people around here who are surprisingly vocal about immigrants - legal or otherwise. I think this feeling transcends skin colour for a lot of people and isn't as simple as, say, the Jew hatred of the 1930s or the Irish and Black racism that we saw laterally. I think people feel ignored and looked down upon.  What you don't realise, Sephiroth, is that I actually agree with a lot of what you're saying. I just think that looking down on people because of their voting history and opinions is self-defeating. And that's where Labour's getting it wrong and Reform is reaping the rewards.
    • @Sephiroth you made some interesting points on the economy, on the Lammy thread. Thought it worth broadening the discussion. Reeves (irrespective of her financial competence) clearly was too downbeat on things when Labour came into power. But could there have been more honesty on the liklihood of taxes going up (which they have done, and will do in any case due to the freezing of personal allowances).  It may have been a silly commitment not to do this, but were you damned if you do and damned if you don't?
    • I'd quit this thread, let those who just want to slag Labour off have their own thread.  Your views on the economy are worth debating.  I'm just stunned how there wasn't this level of noise with the last government.  I could try to get some dirt on Badenoch but she is pointless  Whilst I am not a fan of the Daily Mirror at least there is some respite from Labour bashing. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/grenfell-hillsborough-families-make-powerful-36175862 https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/nigel-farage-facing-parliamentary-investigation-36188612
    • That is a bit cake and eat it tho, isn’t it?    At what point do we stop respecting other people’s opinions and beliefs  because history shows us we sometimes simply have no other choice  you are holding some comfort blanket that allows you to believe we are all equal and all valid and we can simply voice different options - without that ever  impacting on the real world  Were the racists we fought in previous generations different? Were their beliefs patronised by the elites of the time? Or do we learn lessons and avoid mistakes of the past?   racists/bigots having “just as much to say” is both true and yet, a thing we have learnt from the past. The lesson was not “ooh let’s hear them out. They sound interesting and valid and as worthy of an audience as people who hold the opposite opinion”
